I will never render Ferrari with white background , it lacks contrast ... white means bright , red also means bright , so i will kic the "details" awaly , it testes like a coup , even water . I like art .
This is a hi-poly . Sample level = 15.67 , render hours = 12 . If you want to have the source MXS/MXI files to render it yourself to get a better result , pm me.

Is there any easy way (apart from zooming in as much as possible and trial and error) of snapping objects to the ground plane?

Otherwise, I get effects like this : when I render with brazil...

Or use the Align function.

is there any good setting for tyre rubber in brazil? the renders always come out looking good, but the tyres are never quite right (raulongo's tyres in the alonso mclaren render look fantastic)

that mclaren looks err shiny ? !! :S

I never use Brazil , you can try maxwell if you don't mind its low speed , it's very easy to use.
