@vesa - lod_4 should just have the cockpit_low object.
I tried it and it worked ok with all lods. Normally if theres a problem with a lod it will crash when loading.

If it is crashing for someone can you add one of the 10 lods at a atime and see when it ccrashes?
Or even better just add 1, test, then remove that one add add another.

@Jet - that could be due to exporting from 3d editor and not re-exporting from zmodeler

i deleted my gp4 install and did a fresh reinstall only gp4 + patch and the decrypted .exe. i installed every single lod seperately and the damn thing worked!!?? (car looks fantastic!! ;-)) there is only one thing i realised in the t-cam view i can see the original minardi wing in the mirrors. how can that be? i replaced all the lods (even lod35 with a renamem lod3)...

But if it's not that, how to explain that some of users got ctd....hmmm don't have any idea.

@Paolo. If you use only lod4, it's normal you get ctd because object in this lod is incorrect except for real lod4.
In my last upload (fixed2) lods2, 3 and 4 are the same used in the beta2 release
on the 14/07/06. So if they worked, they must continue to work today.

Is an other guy than ralv has done a test following the process described in my last post ?

@ralv, do you get the ctd problem at the step1 ? (For the both car ?)
lod0 as Lod0
Lod1 as lod1, 2, 3 and 4

Is the problem occured for both str car ???

If yes, it will confirm that it's not a lod problem because muks game is running like that.

Will try to redone a special look at the car today

So judging from that there must be a problem with either Lods 2,3 or 4?

lod1-4 all lod1, fine.
lod2-4 lod2 crash, lod2-4=lod3 crash, lod2-4=lod4 crash,
lod1-2=lod1 then lod3-4=lod2 crash, same with lod3 crash, same with lod 4 crash.

i even put them in individually, car1 lodx crash, car2 lodx crash.

so i opened up my wad, saw there was a car_minardi_car2_lod_35, renamed lod1 to that still crash.

when i switch to tv using another car its fine, you can even see the str, but when i look directly at it, it crashes

configure my f1graphics file, turned off mirrors, put car scalar to 100 in main and in mirror, still crash.

i may be wrong, but i think the change from lod1 to lod2 is too big, lod1 is 913kb and lod2 is 564kb, thats nearly half the size/poly's, i've looked at my other car files, and they seem more gradual, i've done eveything i could think of, hope this helps in finding out whats wrong :)

I used lod0 for both cars and I didn't have any problem, nor I have seen half a front wing in the TV cam mode as shown by Jet at pg. 16.
Just one doubt about the base of the rear wing... I'll post an image later when Imageshack decides to work!

No only the suspension and a few other misc parts would show up in all views, and I already checked that I exported all of them, so that isn't it

@ Gezere, maybe you misunderstood me, I only use LOD_0 and LOD_1 (for car 1 and car 2) from the new cars, LODs 2, 3 and 4 are the 2001 car lods.

so when a new car is released, i only install LOD 0 and LOD 1 into my wad, so i have white cars at a distance because the 2001 lods don't have the tex files in the wad.

and for those messing with LOD_35, just delete all of them, they do nothing in the game.

Our lod2 and 3 don't have it!

I don't know if it's the matter but....

Is somebody can test these new lod2 & 3 including now the brakeglow objects
