Mortal, Dean Kittleson and Luke Russell are from the W300, I think it's fairer if they keep the perf they had in the W300.
Nooooooo.... Leave them the same, then I won't have the worst ability in the field any more ;)

We can't help it that you suck ;)
I know... Its my Cats fault ;)

Your cats? Don't you mean your cars? ;)
Naaa Kitty Cat not the car. Ya see he's always demanding food, and it makes me drive badly ;)

p.s. I dunno what I'm going on about ;)

Guido Prins quits from his race-director posistion after dangerous threats from Van het Bolscher
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guido Prins, one of the race-directors, will quit after this season. Reason is Byron van het Bolscher. According to Prins, Van het Bolscher wants to have more and more power in the WGP. "Van het Bolscher thinks that because he has directed one race, he is one of the powerful guys in WGP, but obviously he isn't. But I am weak to people who want to get someone elses power. Especially when that power is mine. I have had a very difficult childhood. I had four bigger brothers who always stole my stuff. That situation is comparable with the current situation I am in. I don't want to get in those hard times again, that's why I give it to him myself, rather than him grabbing it from me. That will safe me a lot of inner pain."
Van het Bolscher himself denies everything: "He said that he didn't want to do it anymore. I said he had to think about it whether he'd move on or not, otherwise I'd find another race director. Because when I have no time there is only Guido who doesn't want to drive a race and always is busy and I don't get anything further with that!"
Prins doesn't really agree with Van het Bolscher: "Clearly lies, just like my four older brothers used to have. *lets a tear loose* This is one of the excuses he uses to get more power in WGP only to benefit his own teams, quite sad really."
When Van het Bolscher heard this, he became furious: "WHAT??? If he wants me to grab power, he can get that!" *suddenly an instrumental tape of Snap with 'I've got the Power' starts*
Van het Bolscher: "I've got the power hey yeah heh
I've got the power
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh yeah-eah-eah-eah-eah-eah
I've got the power
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh yeah-eah-eah-eah-eah-eah
Gettin' kinda evil

I'm gettin' I'm gettin' I'm gettin' kinda evil
I'm gettin' I'm gettin' I'm gettin' kinda evil
I'm gettin' I'm gettin' I'm gettin' kinda evil
I'm gettin' I'm gettin' I'm gettin' kinda evil

Like the bros of the Guid I steal power
Everybit, this is my f*cking sh*t
Just face it I rule you
Nothing you can do
And w300 very soon too
Evil mind, I'm the leader of all time
I change rules, to screw you
I write my evil rules on your nosecone
I'm this series Ecclestone"

NOTE: The rest is more of the same, so we skipped that

"Was that an attempt to sing or an attempt to scream for help? It was real bad."

Byron: "Can I get a second chance?"
Cowell: "Ok, for this time only.."
Byron: "Ok, thank you."
What a coincedence! George Thorogood and his band come in and play 'Bad to the bone'!
Byron: "On the day it began, everything was quite good
And I created silly rules, it was a real flood
The teams spoke up, said leave the rules alone
They could tell right away, that I was bad to the bone
Bad to the bone
Bad to the bone
B-B-B-B-Bad to the bone
B-B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-B-Bad
Bad to the bone

I forced a thousand stops, it looked very dumb
I'll add a thousand more baby, yes I am scum
I wanna f*ck up this series, this and this alone
I'm here to tell ya people, that I'm bad to the bone
Bad to the bone
B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-Bad
Bad to the bone

I make a bend a straight, I'll make a good track suck
I'll make an old track go, and make cars look like a truck
I wanna f*ck up this series, this and this alone
I'm here to tell ya people, that I'm bad to the bone
B-B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-B-Bad
Bad to the bone"

Cowell:"That wasn't much better. Get out ASAP please."

But to get back to the subject we were on (it was about Guido resigning from race director position or something IIRC), we will have to miss Guidos magnificent graphics and great screens and have to live with Byrons awful lo-res track...

Signed with a tear,

The Press
shame, Guido had nice screens

New drivers transferring, ie: w300 to wgp or vice-versa have to start from scratch, the car/team perf remains unchanged. If a driver in the top ten was to transfer from one series to another his perf file position may give his team an advantage or place other drivers in the series at a disadvantage and push them further down the field through no fault of their own, that's why the rule exists. Ideally drivers should only transfer within a series. In this case drivers can keep their perf values. The Race Steward has spoken. :-)

How about someone coming from W300 has his performance multiplied by .95? And after that the reduction of points (as I posted a couple of pages back on my proposal) is applied to the remaining points. Or apply reduction before, then multiply by .95. Just an idea :)

And for WGP guys going down, have them multiply perf files by .99 AFTER the points reduction :)

but that won't be a very large drop in points, maybe you could halve the valueswhen someone transfers as they should get some credit for having experience elsewhere otherwise there is no point in having the two series running alonside each other

At the end of the day however it is Mal's decision

Not if we can influence him enough ;)
After having thought about it today, a transferring driver is like a rookie in the series, therefore some points should be retained, but there should be a percentage rule applied so if a rookie transfers in the first quarter the driver has a quarter of the perf applied, if it is halfway through a season half of the perf is applied.

Here is the example for Dean Kittleson transferring from the w300 to the wgp

w300 perf
[Team #06]
Name=JJ Bud Racing,
Performance=819,839,842
First Driver=13,Dean Kittleson,16061,539,16111,559
Second Driver=14,Ricardo van Smirron,16097,503,16147,523

wgp perf
[Team #08]
Name=Ford WGP,Ford
Performance=810,830,952
First Driver=60,Dean Kittleson,16030,570,16080,590
Second Driver=61,Ilkka Lahtinen,16086,516,16134,536

original round 1 perf numbers 16000,600,16050,650

This example for the wgp shows 30 which is half of the 61 points earned by Dean in the w300, these points are added to my fileset to show the numbers in the database that calculates the perfs. I just have to remember that the 30 points shown in my db really means 0 points for this driver. Theoretically, if Dean earns a race win at 30 points his perf numbers will be back to his original pre wgp, only his team numbers will differ, his actual points score is of course only 30.
Having more drivers transferring will add further confusion and more numbers to keep track of. So there is an argument for resetting the perf to Round 1 numbers as well, this example here shows the procedure for managing the numbers. There are probably other ways of managing a transfer without penalizing either the transferring driver or the rest of the field, I just can't come up with anything else right now.
It's up for discussion anyway.
Not sure about the .95 idea, would like to see the formula laid out.
