@vasstek: Don't worry about car_interior, that's just brakeglow and carbon fibre parts.

It's a good render anyways :)

I'm just trying to find a way to improve the look of the tires now ;-)

No I'm happy with the tires but I wanted to improve the reflections on them to make them more "live".

I have a few ideas but I can't test them right now but I don't doubt you'll see some kinda result this evening ;-)

@Tom
You're learning quite fast, hu? ;)
BTW, I've got something that may interest you about tyres... :)

@Floris
There's something wrong in your renderer settings, that's why it looks somehow pixelated. Check out the Image Filtering rollout! :)

I would like to have a go at some rendering, but I can't manage to get my models imported from ZM to max WITH textures on? how did you manage it for the williams zeppelin?

I made some renders for a team in the Grand Prix Pro League www.gp-proleague.nl

You can find them here

Car was made by Mark Bentvelzen and Paulpeter Kroon.

pretty sure you have to save them as bitmaps to get them working in max.. could be wrong there tho :P

What exactly is happening? Are you adding the textures in ZM to the car? You can save them as bmp's or tga's (if you use tga's, delete the alpha layer that comes with the car).

When you get the car into max, you may have to reapply textures (max only looks in the source folder ie the folder the .3ds is in for textures) if they aren't all in the same folder :)

I am just exporting the williams from my source zm files (i made it in zm) with the textures as TGAs in the same directory but importing the created 3ds gives me an untextured car

I am may be wrong, but If we saw a lot of screenshots I can't remember any render of the Teraur's MP4/21.
Is there a limitation of 3D max which is not able to do a good render with the "chrome effect" or other reason ?
