Hello editing gurus,

This is perplexing. How do you turn the garages? I need to look at things in game so I can start tweaking the banks, verges and stuff.
To my dismay, I have stalled;)
Thanks to Tony for the Plus Garages.
Looking at Oran Park

Edit: I do not know why it was not working. I tried editing the position on my laptop and it worked immediately; now working again at my desk top so no trouble.

Edit2: My mistake, it's obvious now:-o

Lo2k, I would like to thank you for your continued efforts. Thanks for this: GP4 Builder 1.540

hehe, it could be a neverending task. Thanks for your message. 1.540 is not perfect though especially for .gpb functions but it will be fixed soon.

hi guys,

i'm having a problem with 3ds max.I created this pitlane:

i made it by using a pit floor i created in GP4Builder with the fence creator. So,theorically it should have the right dimensions and position. And that's right in 3ds max,but when I convert it in .3ds format and open it in Zmodeler. It gets smaller and out of place.Same if i open it directly in GP4Builder.I really don't know what to do:(

hmm, weird but I badly can't dig in this problem because I don't have Max installed on my PC anymore.

You need to reset xform (something I learned very early in modding in max), before exporting to 3ds.

Sorry it was late last night and I was a bit brief, when you edit a mesh in max it affects the pivots / transforms, (I did notice that all objects imported into Max have their pivots zeroed.)

Anyway, basically if you have anything funky happening when you import into builder, resetting the xform seems to fix it, either from the utility panel or the ribbon.

Something I do all the time is reset xform and break all the vertices before exporting, it seems builder is happier with the mesh that way, breaking the vertices fixes any smoothing issues, (you get black shaded faces form any joined edge's)

thanks,but I already solved it,but i'll keep your suggestion for when i import it in gp4builder ;-)

apparently there's a problem with the .3ds export function in the lastest version of GP4Builder.It always looses those infos about the object you exported ;)So,I exported the fence pieces in .3ds format and they got moved and scaled down, and that was visible from Zmodeler already. Then I made the garages with those edited fences and when i checked them,i used a .dat converted in .3ds format with GP4Builder,so that was edited as the fences and i didn't get the error.

I've never experienced a scaling problem from builder to max.

"Then I made the garages with those edited fences and when i checked them,i used a .dat converted in .3ds format with GP4Builder,so that was edited as the fences and i didn't get the error"

...this sentence i do not understand ;)

damn English skills by me ;)

basically,i modelled the garages by using the pit floor i created with the fence function in GP4 builder. Then i wanted to check the scale and the position of the finished pitlane, and I used the track's dat converted to .3ds in GP4Builder.The fences were exported in .3ds format for 3ds max too,so I couldn't see the error in scale and place,as both were "damaged" from the .3ds export from GP4Builder.I fixed by exporting in .Gp4 for Zmodeler, and from there to .3ds format for 3ds max.I hope i'm clear now;)

No...now I'm even more confused!!....lol......I don't see how exporting can "damage" the mesh in any way.

@senna9194 ...Have you screen-shots of the problem?....GP4 Builder 1.540 is rock steady for me. I can't get any "damaged" meshes.

I don't really know what I am doing with track editing, would love to be able to do so though. :)

just a question I have, how do you move split sector lines? so for like Monaco for example..... I have the 2008 track running on my GP4 but the second split timing beam/line needs to be brought back from just before Turn 15 to just before Turn 13 (as per current spec Monte Carlo track). How do I:

(a) go about modifying that?

(b) modifying it without crashing the game.

any help/advice would be appreciated for a totally track editing amateur like me. :)

Hi,

You can open the dat file with GP4Builder, go to the tracksectors. Click on the initial sector and there will be pop-up window where you can change the split sector lines.

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
