you need to have the .dat and the .gp4 in the same folder with all the textures in tga format. open gp4 builder and open the .gp4. this will cause gp4builder to open both files. now go to graphics tab, open a scene (or create a new one) and click on "add" and select "track from dat". now you should be able to chose which parts of the track you want to convert and the textures you want to use.

Pit Lane Fences Begin flag should be at sector 7, at least before you complete the banks on this part of the track.

I was wondering about shadows of objects, like bridges, trees, fences... what is the method that you people (the more experienced track makers) get them to work in-game?

I have tried to put shadows in my objects, but they don't seem to work. I think it might be some problem with converting the textures or something like that. I have shadows disabled in my graphics file, but they show up in other tracks, so I don't think that's it...

Als,o some shadows of certain low-res objects seem too... low-res, when I create them in GP4Builder. Like, the shadows are all made of huge pixelated squares, while the textures are transparent enough to give them a much more defined shape. Is this normal (due to the objects low-res nature), or is there a way to work around this?

Isn't it the same old multi-threading trouble or the ATI+antialiasing one ?

Lo2k, You have any idea what would cause the pitlane.bin to cause a crash?

No, I don't know.

Are you sure you used the same HD settings when you created your pitlane.bin and when you converted .dat to .gp4 ? If the number of faces is different between pitlane .bin tarmac and .gp4 tarmac, it can cause troubles...
If nothing works, just send me your .dat and I will check what's wrong.

Yes I think so. I will delete the pitlane objects in the gp4 file and the pitlane.bin and convert them again at the same time. If that doesn't work I'll send you the bin file and see what you think.

Thanks for your help.

Laurent, have you fixed the problem with the latest version of GP4Builder where the last pitlane isn't correctly converted graphically with 'Add track from dat'?

If that's what I'm thinking about, it's not a problem, it's designed this way.
Check original tracks, they are all designed with this particularity.

@airefresco: just send me your .dat and I will have a look on it.

@Turbo_Lover: and how does it look like with past version ? (I don't quite understand what's wrong as pitlane overlapping is there even in original track, so I surely miss something)
