i've been checking a dat file for someone...
& found a bug i had on a dat file i was building a while ago...
i tried the latest gp4 builder & it replicates the bug..

build the pitlane & it duplicates the track banking/left track width.
right track width commands...

anyone spot this yet ?

Yeah I did when I was fixing Adelaide .dat. Are you talking about there being the same commands as sector 0 or 1 in all the other sectors.

in the pitlane....

it creates 2 of left/right track width & track banking

also complains about sector having 0 ?

fix it ..then it complains about errors not there ?

Hello.
I'd like to know how to add a shadow to an object.. Like what you can see in Ruboy's post in page 49.
Cheers.

@All : about double commands, I will check it asap (btw I might get internet back in a few days, so I might be back soon )

@SilverBlaze : Simply select your object then click on left panel "add" button. Select 2D shadow. It will create the 3D mesh. You can now create the shadow map and apply it to the shadow object (this stepp is a little longuer to explain, especialy if you need a semi-transparent shadow).

I worked on GP4Builder this week and problem with double commands duplicated over new sectors might be fixed in next release. Sorry for the troubles.

Can I view jip mapping in GP4Builder or do I have to go into GP4 each time to check?
How do I do jip mapping?

check mavericks guide on this..
jip mapping is simple...add the jip command on track sector..
check in game...
only ones that are slow to do are the grid..you add jip commnd then check in game..then see if they are in the right place...

mavericks guide.....serach on this site for it

I am really confused about this "Width Offset". What does it mean?? What is the relationship between that number and track width??

After noticing 2D fences in TTM's Monza screens, I finaly found some time to make an attempt at building 3D fences (thanks to fence builder).

Result is not bad at all (considering I use a very generic stretched texture) but if it plays fine in dry weather, it's really too much polys for wet racing. Maybe slicing objects every 10 sector would help there, but that feature is not in GP4Builder yet (for heavy complexity reason) so I could not test.

That looks really nice...but I am not sure if I would use it because of performance reasons...

looks nice but i really dont think that 3D fences are needed... for walls like turkey pitlane maybe its a good idea... but really flat objects like fences can be 2d i think.

well, just my 2 cents ;)

I don't know, but it could be related to the banking, it's not supposed to overlay itself like that. You should try messing with the banking angle of every sector of those tight turns to ensure, the banking of a sector doesn't go on top of the banking of another sector.
