Sorry for the late reply, but with 70 sectors you'll be safe.

I just tried and pitlane0 sector can be displaced as any sector...
select pitlane\sector0 then engage displace button in the toolbar click and drag in the 3d view to displace the sector at the right place (do the same with rotate button to align it with the track sector then).

Hi all

uncompress the track wad....use texresizer to make the tga to tex...
open the .gp 4 file....open the horizon...click on it to see the seperate
parts & tex names...make a note of the tex names & search thru the wad file
for them....simply copy them to your wip track wad & apply....

I'm having a strange problem.. i'm using the same grass textures for the banks and for the close land, yet they show up in very different shades of green!

(it's supposed to be the brighter green everywhere)

Also, almost nothing of the land object appears in game, only some random faces.. is this because of the class of the object (i picked FLAND, maybe should have left FENCES?), because of the object having too many faces/parts, or any other reason?

@paranoik0: so many question with so few material to answer...
if external land is darker, it might be due to one or more of the following:
- you defined fences with normals pointing down (use Action/unify ground normals to fix them)
- you set a texture mapping that only display darker pixels (seeing your screen, only 1 raw of pixels are used to cover the whole quads, not the best)

if nothing appears, start by going to Action\fix parts to object link and check in game.
It it's not better, you might think about changing objects class, yes. FLAND is for Far Lands, so they won't be displayed forever. Nland would be better.

For objects having too many faces, if they aren't that many, the fix parts to object link should fix them, else, check in File/file details that you did not overload your scene face/vertice account. If so, you might have a red line with a warning message.

Use 'unify ground normals' to get the right color of the grass and i choose for the 'nland' class.

Thanks a lot guys, those tips solved the problems. I need to get a bit better at that mapping thing though, I'll mess around with it.

About mapping your land, if i build 4 metres of land, i choose for mapping the value of 1, that is in cases with mid res and high res textures.

Wit low res textures i choose 2 for mapping. In both cases you will get a very nice result.

sup there.

I have just gotten into track making so im a bit of a noob here.

I am making a fantasy track which is pretty long here. but the view screen in gp4 builder always shows wireframe models. I think it would be totally easier if the track appeared solid, but it wont. I think it has something to do with .gp4 files but apparently, i have none. Can someone help me?

You can try to hit F3 or F4 keyboard keys to enable solid display...

Does somebody have a high res Google Earth picture of the Interlagos circuit?

I'm planning to do the old version of it, but scaled down, cos the track is too long for GP4.

Thanks in advance.

Ruben, I can give you one if you don't mind waiting a day or two :)

There are some sections of the old track however that have been destroyed since.

well the option for plain view is unavailable. I believe i need a .gp4 file for the track, but there isnt a .gp4 file for the S1CT04.dat and i dont know how to create a .gp4 for a track.

Go to display -> physics options -> then select plain and de-select wireframe. That should work even without a .gp4 file! The .gp4 file is only for the graphics.

You can't create that file, you'll need to extract it from the .wad of one of the original tracks.

No problem with it Paulo. :)

Only the Sargento turn is missing nowadays, behind the pitcomplex and a little bit of the Curva do Sol. ;-)

Paulo, do you also know people who can provide some detailed information of the old layout?

I appreciate your help.

@ paranoiko: i did that. all it does is turn the black parts of the wireframe green. And its still wireframe!

basically, it looks something like this

. . . . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . .
- - - - - - - - - - - -
. . . . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . .
