I saw some round sw-wheeelpicture at b-tone's site. It looks like its possible there..

Yeah, Tony's using a 3d "rim" which is built into the carshape.. I built one for 1991 but it wasn't very well received, for some reason...

It isn't possible to do full round textures tho, basically cos the original gp4 wheel was 2001-spec (ie kinda rectangular) so you have limits within which to work - you can't remap the shape either since it is generated by the exe, it isn't something you can extract and edit (unfortunately).

Do you change the sw-spoke only then, if you use a 3d st-wheel?

About the "exe" st-wheel, has anyone asked Lo2K about that? Maybe he or Madman has any idea.
What I understand there is people ho has tweeked that exe file in different way like Madman.

i'd recomend the 3d wheel if the teams all use round wheels.

the 3d rim is part of the carshape, and the tex is stwheel.tex (just the spokes)

alesi_fan - yep, but it must be rectangular a bit (like 2001) so up-down spoke wouldnt really work.

the only other problem is the hands and central spoke are on the same plane, so if you look closely either the hands are 'in' the rim, or the spoke is 'outside' the rim

The 3D rim is great, but it has to be larger, so it looks like the hands are gripping the wheel tight, because you can't move the hands inwards or out.

@ Alesi_Fan: As six-degrees says, the wheel is already at the pixel limits of what the shape can offer. So, a fully round wheel can be made, but it would be too small for the hands.
