Funny reminiscence while I'm putting textures on the Sebring track accordingly:
When I was a boy of around seven to eight years old I used to play in the yard in front of our house which was an elementary school building in a remote village in upper Styria/Austria.
I often build tracks for my matchbox cars (my favorite was a red Borgward Isabella of 1955 - Paul Newman had one ;-)) in the earth of the schoolyard.
But sometimes when I came out next morning my mothers rooster and hen which she held for egg production had destroyed my roads with their habit of sand bathing...
I generally got angry, took a big stick and chased the flock of chickens across the schoolyard, at least until my mother hot came out of the house and chased me across the yard... :-[ ;)

Hi mate,
here attached a gp4 scene with all objects imported from rF version. It is a good base to start. I converted another version but it has 950k faces and GP4 supports a maximum of 400k... so this is a good compromise.
There is a lot of work to do (dat and gp4 itself) but now you have a base :) Here the link: .::DOWNLOAD::.

Grazie Samuele! I'm also impressed how fast you were.
Sometimes one has to accept his limits, so I was only able to give the palmtrees a transparent background meanwhile...

Mate, limits are made to be overtaken :-)
TY but mine work is really a small part of the one needed to make driveable the track

Meanwhile I made some test on the other version of Sebring. There is a lot of work to do (fixing green color for example) and a long work is required to half cut the number of verticles thant is close to 900k now.
But it is a good start for whoever want to complete it =)

So the baby is still an embryo... ;-)
Before it gets forgotten again... what are the next steps to be done - taken the rfactor conversion as a base?
Could someone please explain for example how to create a dat-file out of the material... (or, even better, make one...)?
You see Samuele's remark about the limits to be extended really challenged me... thank you, mate (Y)

Btw. you might know the song

'But I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walks a thousand miles
To ... drive the Sebring track
;)

Dat-file out of the material is not possible. It is possible to move track segments with mouse interaction.

Could you explain that in a little more detail (ideally step by step... ;)), please!?

Every sector so I practically build the whole dat-file? ;)

I'm also not wise. ;) There is a tutorial somewhere how you can make the dat for GP4 with the coordinates of the files of other games. But I don't know exactly if it works for other games as well or only for GP3 tracks. :(

How nice would it be to see Ariel's great IMSA mod on a picture like this one... ;-)
