8th. Fairly pleased with that. Hopefully, Ihara san keeps it on track, reliability is good, & a few points on the cards. If we get top 5, I'll be very satisfied with the weekends work

Mediocre field for Monaco, will try to catch some points.

Nice track. If I remember correctly there was a video posted somewhere on GPG a year back or so.

20th on the grind!!!! Absolute crap as usual... With no boost, we hope for nothing more than the victory. :)

GPG Nations Cup Rd 11 Argentine GP – Race Day

Part 1

Hello once again, and welcome back to Posadas Raceway. We are almost ready for the start of what will surely be a cracking race, and it’s been said that this race may potentially decide who our title contenders will be as we head into the final half of the season. Nathan Cremasco will start from pole position in the Brazil car, with Scott Dixon next to him in the New Zealand car. Behind them on the second row we find Mathieu Briere in the Canada car and Emanuel Domenech in the Argentina car. The cars are now returning from their warmup lap, so it’s time to head trackside as we get set for the race start.

Weather Report

He we go. The cars have all returned from their warmup lap, and we are now ready for the start. Cremasco has pole position, but everyone will be cheering for their hometown favourite who will start from 4th. When the lights go out, it’s showtime.

They are off!

Domenech has made a beauty of a start, and moves up into 2nd before the first corner.

Cremasco holds his ground.

And the Brazilian has managed to hold onto his lead.

Meanwhile, Kuei is challenging Dixon for 3rd.

Unfortunately for the Korean, she wasn’t able to get by, and now has to watch out for Hatfield and Keranen.

Back to the battle for the lead, and it looks like Domenech is making his move.

The Argentina driver has succeeded in making his move, and now leads his home race to the delight of the crowd.

The timing shows that a few other moves have been made.

Onboard now with Nikolov, as the timing shows Domenech taking the fastest lap and also that there is a yellow flag out.

It’s Kederer, and to the looks of things he must’ve had an off. Let’s see the replay.

He was behind Grimaldi but heading into the final corners he ran wide and off into the sand.

At least he gets to continue on, but his chance to potentially score points is all but over.

Domenech looks to have a comfortable lead over Cremasco, while further back the cars are all quite close to each other.

Current championship leader, Briere, has found himself trying to take 7th from Girard. It would be considered a terrible start for the Canadian as he had started from 3rd.

Girard isn’t the only one for Briere to be careful of. Viljoen and McGregor are close enough to be a threat.

It looks like they are ready to make a move on the Canadian.

However, it looks like Viljoen was the only one to get by.

Oh my, what has happened here? Tung has been sent airborne, and Nikolov has been turned around slightly.

Now Tung has found himself on his side. Surely that will be his race over?

Replay time. Tung was involved in a 5way battle for 13th.

However, both Frutiger-Fussli and Nikolov tried to get up the inside of Tung into the corner. 3 into 1 don’t always work...

And it most certainly doesn’t this time. As a result, Nikolov got pushed into Tung, sending the China car into a barrel roll, and leaving the Bulgaria car in an awkward position.

From Grimaldi’s POV, he got a good view of what happened.

Grimaldi makes contact with Nikolov, but thankfully it was only light contact, and the Bulgarian is able to continue on.

As the China car is slowly turned over, Domenech once again takes the fastest lap.

Tung’s race is indeed over.

Back to the leaders, and it looks like there has been a position change. Hatfield now sits in 3rd behind both Domenech and Cremasco.

Now Kuei wants her chance to get by Dixon. Meanwhile, the timing shows how the top 10 have moved since race start.

The Korean succeeds in making her move, and now sits in 4th.

Even Girard wants a chance at getting by.

They go side by side.

And the Frenchman succeeds in getting by.

As we focus in on Keranen, the timing shows that Ihara has lost a few positions.

We finally find Ihara, and she has lost more positions. What has happened to the Japanese driver?

The replay shows that she was behind De Boer, but ended up running wide in the same place as Kederer.

At least she is able to continue on.

As we ride with Kederer, let’s check out the current standings.

It’s time now for a short break. We’ll be back very soon.

GPG Nations Cup Rd 11 Argentine GP - Race Day

Part 2

Welcome back.

Kederer is keen to show Ihara just why he is the reigning champion.

He has a look up the inside.

And he succeeds in getting by.

Domenech is really enjoying this race at the moment, and he has good reason to.

Dixon had managed to get back in front of Kuei, but is now once again under attack.

And once again, Kuei succeeds in getting by.

Tafuro’s race hasn’t really been a good one so far.

Paddock has found himself off the track.

As the replay shows, he was behind Ihara, but ends up running wide and off the track.

At least he makes it back onto the track.

Domenech increases his lead once again.

Where did that lockup come from?

It looks like it was from Keranen, as the timing shows that he has been passed by Viljoen. And McGregor is hoping to take advantage of it himself.

However, Keranen manages to hold the Australian behind him.

As we focus in on Grimaldi, in the background it looks like Kederer has managed to get by Aspenstrom.

Whatever has happened to Silvestre to cause him to be down in 20th has clearly been missed by the cameras.

Girard looks like he has plenty of pace here today. A few more laps and he’ll be right on Hatfield’s tail.

Meanwhile, Briere loses a position to De Boer and falls out of the points.

Nikolov and Grimaldi resume their battle from earlier.

Hatfield could well be looking at a podium finish here today if he can maintain his top 3 position till the end.

As Briere attempts to get by De Boer, McGregor goes for a passing attempt of his own on Keranen.

It seems both passing moves have worked out.

Time to check out the current standings again.

De Boer is really giving Briere a hard time.

He has a look up the inside.

And he succeeds in retaking his position back from the Canadian.

This isn’t looking so good for both Hatfield and Girard, and Kuei is ready to make a move.

And here is the reason why. It looks like Girard had got by Hatfield, but ended up running wide, which allowed the UAE driver to regain the position.

Kuei tries to take advantage, but is unable to get by Girard.

As a result of Girard’s error, it has allowed Dixon to close in on the battling group.

Silva is in the pitlane, and it looks like he has lost part of his rear wing.

He was battling Tafuro, but ends up running wide and off the track.

However, unlike the last few drivers who ran off, Silva ends up hitting the tyre barrier with his rear wing, causing his wing to get damaged.

He gets back ontrack, and heads straight in to the pits for a new wing.

Back to the front of the field, and it seems that Girard is trying for a move on Hatfield.

His move has succeeded, and Girard now sits in 3rd.

Frutiger-Fussli is doing the best he can, but his race hasn’t seemed to improve since the contact back on lap 2.

Oh dear, now Ihara is in the pits.

As the replay shows, she went off in a similar way to how Silva went off earlier, and damaged the rear wing.

She rejoins the track and immediately takes to the pits for repairs.

This gives a good indication on how much ground Cremasco must make up to have a chance to challenge Domenech for the lead.

It’s close between Kuei and Hatfield for 4th.

Girard is really showing great pace. He has managed to close in closer to the back of Cremasco.

The Frenchman has closed in even more, and is now trying for a passing move.

And he has done it. Girard is now up to 2nd.

Kuei is really applying the pressure onto Hatfield.

Now the Korean is close enough to try for a move.

She succeeds in making her move, and moves up to 4th.

As we ride with Dixon, let’s take the time to check out the current standings.

Once again, it’s time for another break. We hope to be back soon.

GPG Nations Cup Rd 11 Argentine GP - Race Day

Part 3

We are back.

Keranen is doing well to hold onto 10th, but Briere is still within striking distance.

Domenech is still the current race leader.

Behind him are his closest challengers with Girard at the head of it.

Dixon looks to be losing time to Hatfield.

Kuei looks to be even closer to the back of Cremasco.

The first round of stops is now underway as the first few cars come in for their stop.

Domenech manages to rejoin in 11th.

Girard rejoins in 12th, but has to be careful not to let Kederer ruin his race.

Tafuro also took the chance to make his first stop.

More pitlane action is about to take place.

And even more pitlane action.

Viljoen looks to have made a pass on De Boer.

With all the first stops now made, let’s check out the standings as we ride onboard with Hatfield.

Cremasco was one of the unfortunate ones to lose out during the pitstops.

Viljoen did manage to get by De Boer before, but now De Boer is back in front.

Girard has managed to gain time on Domenech. Are we about to see the start of a charge towards the lead from the Frenchman?

We have a passing attempt being made by Tafuro on Frutiger-Fussli.

The Italian has managed to make his move succeed.

This race hasn’t really been a good one for Paddock.

Girard has gained time on Domenech yet again.

Dixon is still close enough to Hatfield to try for a potential passing move, but isn’t quite there just yet.

More time gained again by Girard on Domenech.

Silva is in the pits, presumably for his scheduled stop.

As we ride onboard with our race leader, let’s take the chance to check out the current standings.

The gap between Domenech and Girard keeps getting smaller and smaller, as shown by the split.

Kuei is still holding onto 3rd.

Behind her, the battle for 4th continues on between Hatfield and Dixon.

The gap has gotten smaller yet again between Domenech and Girard.

While Girard focuses on chasing down Domenech, Kuei is starting to chase down Girard.

Now the gap is down to 0.2s. Girard is on fire right now.

Are we about to see a change of lead?

Indeed we have. Girard now leads the race after spending the last few laps chasing down Domenech.

However, Domenech isn’t ready to just give up and accept defeat.

But as the split shows, he may have to let Girard stay in the lead and focus on holding onto his 2nd position.

With Domenech having lost time to Girard, that might just be what Kuei needs to start chasing the Argentina driver down.

Hatfield is doing an amazing job holding down 4th despite Dixon chasing him down.

Unseen by the cameras, Grimaldi has managed to get by Frutiger-Fussli.

But the Swiss driver isn’t ready to just let him get away.

He has a look up the inside.

And retakes his position from Grimaldi.

Time for another break. We hope to be back soon.

exciting race!

Too bad Argentina lost the lead.. would've been nice to see them win their home GP.

Part 4

We’re back once again.

Girard is slowly pulling away from Domenech.

Further back in the field, De Boer is slowly catching up to Cremasco.

As we ride with Girard, let’s take a look at the current standings.

Domenech’s biggest concern right now is with the South Korea car, as the timing shows that Kuei is closing in on him.

This is how close the Korean is to Domenech.

Dixon may still have a chance to make it into the top 4, just as long as he continues to close the gap to Hatfield.

It looks like De Boer has gotten even closer to Cremasco.

Who knows where Nikolov would be right now if he hadn’t been caught up in that earlier incident.

Back to the front, and Kuei looks to be making a move on Domenech.

There’s a bit of contact made.

And the Korean is now through into 2nd.

Something must surely be wrong with Domenech’s car to have lost both the lead and 2nd after the first round of stops.

With Domenech now in 3rd, it now gives Hatfield a chance to make it back into the top 3 considering the pace of the Argentina car.

Keranen currently holds the final points position, but Briere is trying his hardest to take the position for himself.

Considering the current gap back to Nikolov, Briere is the only driver at the current moment that can potentially take 10th from the Finn.

As for Kederer, he will be hoping Briere fails to score points so that the standings will not be affected.

Girard hasn’t won a race since Zandvoort last season. Will today be his first since then?

The gap between Hatfield and Dixon has been decreased again.

Briere has closed in even more on Keranen.

Aspenstrom hasn’t been shown much throughout the race, but we can’t leave any drivers out from the coverage now can we?

Ihara is in the pits, and most likely for her scheduled stop.

The gap between Hatfield and Dixon continues to decrease.

The battle between Cremasco and De Boer is getting heated up.

De Boer has a look up the inside.

And the Netherlands driver succeeds in getting by.

The second round of stops get underway as Kuei is the first one in.

De Boer is in for his stop, which gives the position back to the Brazilian.

Keranen is now in 11th, which means Briere has managed to get by.

Tafuro is in for his stop.

Kederer and Paddock are also in.

Domenech, Dixon and Cremasco are all in for their stop.

Briere has managed to close in on McGregor. He has a look up the inside, but is unable to get by.

Grimaldi is in for his stop.

As too is Silvestre.

The race leader is now in.

The pitlane is going to be quite busy.

Nikolov is in as well.

Aspenstrom is also in.

Oh dear, Silvestre has been turned around.

As the replay shows, it looks like there has been contact between Ihara and Silvestre, which caused the San Marino driver to be turned around.

At least he is able to continue on.

Frutiger-Fussli is the last driver in for his stop.

Maybe not, as Silva is also in.

Aspenstrom has run off the road.

The replay shows that he ran wide in a similar way to both Silva and Ihara, and has damaged his rear wing.

He has managed to get going again, but has gotten himself stuck on the kerb.

After waiting to let a few cars by, he finally gets over into the pits.

With all drivers having now made both their stops, let’s check out the current standings.

Time for our final break. When we return, we’ll be going to the end to see who our winner will be.

you didn't mention Argentina lost the final podium position :P

GPG Nations Cup Rd 11 Argentine GP - Race Day

Part 5

Welcome back for the final time.

Kuei must be thanking her lucky stars right now to be in the position she is in right now.

The same can’t be said for Domenech though. He was the race leader for most of the first half of this race, but now he is fighting to hold onto 4th.

There is a good chance that Dixon will eventually end up taking 4th away from Domenech.

Cremasco must surely be disappointed right now not to be battling for a spot inside the top 5.

Lapped traffic may end up playing a crucial role in the outcome of this race.

Silva does the right thing and lets Girard through without too much of a fight.

Keranen currently sits in 9th.

Girard’s lead is currently at 3.5s.

Dixon has managed to close in slightly on Domenech.

Briere still wants to put himself inside the points, but he first has to catch up to McGregor.

Kuei has caught up to the back of Silva. She can’t afford to lose too much time trying to lap the Portuguese driver as it’ll allow Hatfield to close in on her.

She finally gets by.

Briere has gotten closer to the back of McGregor.

While we watch Briere try to close in even closer, let’s check out the current standings.

It looks like Dixon is starting to lose time to Domenech.

4 laps left to go.

Let’s see how the top 10 have moved since the race start.

Who would’ve thought that a battle for the final points position would be this close?

Hatfield has caught up to the back of Silva.

And he manages to get by without too much trouble.

Briere is not giving up in his quest to get by McGregor.

With not long left to go in the race, let’s check out the current standings. And that would be considered a close call for Girard as he laps Paddock.

Domenech and Dixon have now caught up to the back of Silva.

Girard has simply been outstanding here today. His first stint went well, but after his first stop it all fell into place for him, and he was able to get in front of Domenech and control the race from there.

He enters the final corner for the last time.

And takes the chequered flag to win the Argentine GP, his first win since Zandvoort last season.

Kuei crosses the line in 2nd.

And Hatfield rounds off the podium in 3rd.

Domenech was able to hold onto 4th despite everything that has happened to him today.

As for the battle for the final points position, 10th goes to McGregor who was able to hold off Briere.

What a race we witnessed here today. We saw plenty of battles, and a good number of incidents which would’ve kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. And after it’s all been said and done, we have our winner. Congratulations Jean Girard and Team France, our winner of Rd 11. It’s Team France’s first victory since the Dutch GP at Zandvoort last season, so there’ll be plenty of celebrations coming from all the team members later tonight. But we can’t forget about Emanuel Domenech and Team Argentina. They did well in their home race, and were considered the favourite for the win had it not been for the sudden loss of pace after the first round of stops. That wraps up all the action for Posadas Raceway. We hope you enjoyed our coverage, and we’ll see you all back here again when we bring you Rd 12 of the GPG Nations Cup, to be held at Aida in Japan. This is GPG_Nations_cup, signing out from Argentina. Goodbye.

Team Radio Conversation

Tung: What do I have to do to try and get inside the top 10?
Engineer: We just need to make up a few positions. It shouldn't be too difficult to do that. Remember the pace we had in the last race?
Tung: Yes, but that was last race, not now.
Engineer: Copy that. Just keep doing the best you can for now. It's still early in the race.
Tung: We might need to make a few changes during the stop then.
Engineer: Exactly what I was thinking. Anyways, be careful out there as you have at least 4 cars behind you.
Tung: Don't worry. I'll hold them behind me...
(Contact Is Made)
Engineer: WTF!? Cheng, are you ok?
Tung (Dazed): Not really. What on earth was Franz and Nikola thinking? They should know by now that 3 into 1 never works.
Engineer: Yeah, we saw that. Seems they both thought they could get by. At least you know it's not your fault for the contact.
Tung: I hope they get what is coming to them. Anyways, I'll be back in the garage very soon. The medical car is here to pick me up.
Engineer: Alright. We'll see you soon.

My goodness. How unfortunate for Cheng to be taken out of the race through no fault of his own. We had a good chance to score points here today, but once again we walk out empty handed. With the few exception of good results, this season just isn't going our way at all. Oh well. Time to regroup and focus our attentions on the next race.

Team Argentina radio conversation (Between 1st stop and 2nd stop)

Domenech: ¿Qué $%&#$% pasa que el auto no funciona igual que al principio?
Engineer: No sabemos, nosotros solo cambiamos las ruedas y cargamos el combustible...
Domenech: ¿Qué cubiertas me colocaron? ¿Duras o blandas?

Contact at the end of the race

Domenech: Cuarto puesto. Literalmente no perdimos nada.
Engineer: ¡Dale!

Translation

Domenech: What $%&#$% happens that the car doesn't work like in the beginning?
Engineer: Don't know, we just changed the tires and load the fuel...
Domenech: What tires put me? ¿Hard or soft? I said very clearly that they were going soft.
Engineer: Emm... We put the hard...
Domenech: You know that the compound of hard tires don't like me neither I run fine with that!
Engineer: (...)
Domenech: Well, never mind, if we finish in the Top 5 in the race we should be happy.

Contact at the end of the race

Domenech: Fourth place. We literally didn't lost anything. We were without some cup but at least we have points.
Engineer: My apologies, we think with the hard it was going to go well too...
Domenech: That's it, nothing happens. When we keep everything we eat pizza with all the team like a little celebration, do you think?
Engineer: Of course!

Then they kept everything, changed clothes and went out for pizza all together. The end ;)

Vive la France!

...and Monaco out of shape.

Balls lol ;) Again, not worth the boost investment :(
