Really disappointed with eighth on the grid.

Races: 163 - Wins: 23 - Pole Positions: 24 - Fastest Laps: 22
Season 9: Constructors' Champions
5th at home, not bad. Podium is the aim of this race

Race has been run, and we have a winner. Coverage should hopefully be up soon with the first 2 parts.

Another good quali for Antero today, nothing special but nothing horrible either. Should be ok
Dead last... at least not something we didn't expect... And as Lewis Hamilton says: we will come back stronger than ever :D
Bummer! We should have used some boost.

Team NZ
Happy with fourth, hoping we don't go backwards like last race
16th without a boost isn't that bad... you just expect it ;)

My GPGSL Career
Team UAE

With a bit of luck perhaps a top 10 finish. No boost going to be tough though.
Ugh :( No boost though, so no big surprise ;)
Not bad for no boost

GPG Nations Cup Rd 12 Japanese GP – Race Day

Part 1

Hello once again. We are back here in Aida, where we are getting ready for the race start. In qualifying, we saw Paulo Silva take pole, with Tobias Kederer taking 2nd. Which of these two will take the lead into the first corners? We’ll find out very shortly. Anyways, the cars can now be heard returning from their warmup lap, so let’s head trackside as we get set for the start.

Weather Report

Here we go. All the cars have returned from their warmup lap, and we are now ready to go racing. Once the lights go out, it’s showtime.

Off they go!

No changes to the top 3, but Kederer may soon find himself under pressure from Aspenstrom.

Aspenstrom pulls out from Kederer’s slipstream, and has a look up the inside.

And the Swedish driver succeeds in getting past the German.

Silva still leads, as the timing shows that Viljoen has lost two positions.

After what happened to him in Argentina, Tung will be hoping for a much better race here today.

Team Sweden is showing great pace here today, as Aspenstrom has managed to close in onto the back of Silva.

Paddock, who is making his final appearance in the GPG Nations Cup, succeeds in making a move on Tung.

Silva takes the fastest lap.

We find McGregor doing his best to close in closer to Keranen.

Domenech has entered the pits, and as it’s too early for it to be a scheduled stop, that must mean there is a problem with the Argentina car.

Back to the battle between McGregor and Keranen, and we find the Australian having a look up the inside into the corner. Meanwhile, a yellow flag is out.

And here’s why the yellow is out. Tafuro has run wide and off the track. Hopefully he can make it back ontrack.

McGregor managed to make his move succeed, and he is now ahead of the Finn.

Tafuro was able to make it back ontrack.

With the race now 4 laps in, let’s check out the current standings.

There’s not much in it between Kederer and Dixon.

Aspenstrom has gained time on Silva.

And now has passed Silva for the race lead.

Now both Kederer and Dixon have gotten by, and Silva has pulled off to the grass. What has happened to the Portugal car?

The timing shows the cause of the problem. How heartbreaking for both driver and team.

With Silva now out of the race, Aspenstrom now has clear air ahead of him and can use the speed of his car to his advantage.

Girard is trying for a passing move on Hatfield.

However, Hatfield manages to hold him back.

Kuei can see the battle ahead of her, and may be able to take advantage should there be contact between them.

However, she’ll also need to watch out for Viljoen who is closing in on her.

We have Girard vs Hatfield, and Kuei vs Viljoen.

Girard makes his move on Hatfield.

And he succeeds in getting by. Also, Viljoen has managed to get by Kuei.

Aspenstrom is flying at the moment.

As we go onboard with the Swedish driver, let’s check out the current standings.

It’s still quite close in the battle for 2nd.

Viljoen has managed to get by Hatfield, but there is now a train of cars behind him.

Viljoen has managed to make some space between himself and the train, leaving Hatfield at the head of it.

Grimaldi goes for a move on Frutiger-Fussli.

However, he wasn’t able to make it by the Swiss driver.

Unseen by the cameras, Hatfield has dropped back to 19th.

Tafuro decides to have a crack at passing Hatfield.

However, the UAE driver manages to hold his position.

Ihara is doing her best holding back Paddock in the battle for 4th.

Current championship leader Briere is currently in 11th position.

However, he does have to keep an eye out for Girard as the Frenchman is not that far behind.

Girard decides to make his move, and tries to go through on the inside.

But Briere defends his position, and Girard has no choice but to stay behind. Meanwhile, the timing shows that Paddock has managed to get by Ihara.

It would seem Paddock was handed 4th as the gap between himself and Ihara is pretty big.

And Cremasco and Tung are now close enough to pose a threat to Ihara.

Now Ihara runs wide, and Cremasco is able to take advantage and move up a position.

Tung may not have been able to take advantage as well, but at least he now has a chance to put pressure onto the Japanese driver.

It’s now time for our first break, so we’ll be back as soon as possible.

I can't believe our luck... :( (N)
