Hang on a sec... a few seasons back we had the Le Mans GP with a full on French Brie / Baguette / Stripey shirt wearing / Vagisil Sponsored / Garlic infused race complete with dinosaurs in the parks trackside and that sunk like a lead weight!

Demon Racing Press Release.....

WOW! At this rate, Demon Racing will need a new front door, such is the endless procession of drivers dropping off their resumes, in search of a prized race seat in the GPGSL. At this stage, no date has been set for a decision on who will fill the race seat, full time. Sebastian Nell will take over from Zsigimond after the Jerez race, and from there, it is anyone's guess.

Some nice bribes and cash transfers are being offered, and we here at Demon will take all of these under consideration. Pizza of course, is always a potential deal sealer..... lol

The door is open to one and all, to apply for the chance of a race seat. And, being the honest and dignified team we are, NO deals will be done without consent from all parties involved - that is the one thing we will take 100% seriously : all parties must be satisfied!

Glen, I hope you haven't been sniffing around any of our testers.

It's my job to pinch other people's drivers :)

As Stefan can probably attest to, having signed first Charrel, and then John from ART a few seasons back.

We also kind of technically own Carlos... ;)

Demon get a pair of Legges

After race driver Zsigmond Somogyi left Demon Racing to begin a new lifestyle as the Hungarian equivalent of David Attenborough, the Australian team have come up with a novel solution to fill the vacant seat: cloning current driver Jake Legge.

Whilst the cloning process gets up and running, tester Sebastian Nell will step up to the number 19 car since his name sounds like a certain F1 champion.

"Cloning Jake will be a great benefit to us" said a Demon spokesperson. "Although we'll now get through a projected 14 million teabags over the course of the season, we'll get a lot more sponsorship money now there will be two Jakes in the Tetley adverts. It'll be like a 30-second episode of ChuckleVision, although with 100% less moustache."

"The only problem is on track; with two Jakes, we don't expect to win anything in a hurry."

Yeah sorry, you won't get away with that as an activity post - that smacks of "I don't care but I don't want my driver to suffer." >>;

Correct. Either it's a joke, or whatever it is, it's unacceptable. I have pm'd the author. I suggest his team owner take some action. That's just taking the piss out of the series and insults the rest of the participants who actually make an effort to be part of the series.

Totally agree Mal. Not sure his team owner will do anything either given his earlier comments.

Epic team PR is epic.
Except moustaches are needed, and a bit of "to tea, to you!"

The GPGSL management team can certainly do something. I find something like this particularly galling when everyone else can make an effort, and I'm sure everyone else would too. So we've had a couple of delays due to track bugs, and probably wont be the last, it doesn't mean you can't write something, anything, even pizza related as we've seen the last couple of days. Either you have an interest in what's going on or you don't. This is a community with a common shared interest, that post just takes the piss in my opinion.

Don't take it too serious, it's not worth the bother.

On a side note: the Jerez FP is the first session ever that I'll enter while being in the lead of the championship! Yay for me :)

Via Facebook Sebastian Nell complained about a press release written by his team. He quoted the offending sentence and commented:

-------------------------------------------------------
> Whilst the cloning process gets up and running,
> tester Sebastian Nell will step up to the number
> 19 car since his name sounds like a certain F1

ARingdingding? I sure hope not, getting beaten by his teammate at the first race while struggling with a faulty car, then at the second track destroying his chances on the win by stopping one lap before the rain starts is nothing I'd like to experience. So please don't compare me to the champion, I'm faster ;)

I'd say that rips your title from you! Can't remember that Heidfeld ever led the F1 championship ;)

I thought my job was like any F1 reserve driver: wait till the team misses a driver, then watch as they hire somebody else ;-)

The three questions interview with Scala

Q:Any second name?

A: Wat?

Q: Your opinion on the pizza related posts in the GPGSL thread?

A: Pizza is good. I think I'll buy one this evening.

Q: Are you getting ready for Jerez?

A: I'm ready. The team isn't. Ricardo forgot our cars at Kyalami.
