Owen Edwards @oensan 17m
Seriously looking forward to this weekend. One of my favourite circuits, one of my favourite countries. Love Japan.

Just a little shout out so everyone knows I'm alive. The MPR have been out and about in Japan, hence why we've been so quiet here.

I've also got an announcement to make later. I'll get it sorted in a bit.

GPGSL Japanese Grand Prix, Suzuka

(Track by SilverBlaze & SchueyFan)

Free Practice

The weather is looking fantastic here in Japan for the test drivers to strut their stuff on the Suzuka circuit. First out the pitlane is Scuderia Minardi chief, Rico van Smirren.

Naturally, he is first to set a time.

TNR boss, Dan Mills takes 2nd.

New boy O'Brien is 3rd, but over half a second adrift of first place.

Minardi race driver Matteo Scala, testing because of Ben Johnson's exclusion, takes 3rd.

SCR man Moinet snatches that 3rd place from Scala.

AMR's Sevastian takes 1st with a big 0.640 second gap over van Smirren.

Julian Copeman, takes 2nd.

Snake's Brunner takes the popular 3rd position.

De Boer gets within half a second of Sevastian.

But McGregor puts his team's +6bhp team boost to good use to get with 2 tenths of the lead.

Nell takes a creditable 3rd place for Demon Racing.

McCarthy sticks his MPR into 5th position.

Stoddart grabs 4th.

Jalving takes the ever popular 3rd.

ONE Racing's Roedl takes 5th.

As van Smirren leads everyone out for a 2nd run, lets look at the standings so far.

Dan Mills moves up to 4th.

Only to be beaten by Moinet.

Shadow boss Pellatt improves to 7th place.

Nell takes a top 3 spot.

Lets see the standings again.

Sevastian is only 3 thousandths down on his own fastest time in the first sector.

Second sector and he has lost over a tenth.

By the finish line that has drifted out to nearly 2 tenths.

McCarthy uses his team's boost and his own driver boost to take 2nd.

But his team mate, Jalving, steals that away from him. Looking good for MPR and the qualifying session.

Stay tuned for the official results.

My GPGSL Career
Great run by Sebastian to take 5th! As for me, well that boost did sweet fark all! Might have to get the mechanics to remove the sand bags from my car......

7th ! My best result so far and Top10. I think I can say now, like Owen Edwards, "I love Japan" :-)

Depends which ones you mean, Mal ;) You can get almost anything outta a vending machine in Japan! Or am I missing something..?

great day overall. Got to rescue my English grade, and now the evening only went better. 5th place, absolutely happy with this, given we're racing Suzuka, a really difficult track.
oh crap,,

"If in doubt, Flat out."
Happy with that, found a decent set up that should help the boys in the race.

yeah, that was a great performance indeed, mate :)

used to be GPGSL's Nick Heidfeld
Now that free practice result looks really promising and really scaring at the same time. Andrei once again showed a great performance and made full use of the good perf + boost. The fact that Daniel couldn't make use of it scares me though. Very sad for him. I just hope that I can squeeze a bit more out of this car.

11th. A lot better than my result from Sepang so I'm quite happy with that result.

2nd in free practice, my teammate 3rd.. Not looking bad for MPR! But what a lap of Sevastian, last season he was a testdriver for MPR. Loads of talent thats for sure!

Anyhow, back to business. Very nice to drive free practice, good to get my own set-up. Looking forward to qualifying, it will be challenging
