i hope we can do better in the qualifying session

used to be GPGSL's Nick Heidfeld
Ricardo is a slow driver, 10th is good :-)

My GPGSL Career
Heh, feel kinda sorry for Eric, since he had a similar contact with Tobias in the GPGSL-3 race ;-)

As for the result, not very promising but given that I saved my boost hoping for rain, it seems quite good.

Stats: 139 Starts / 7 Wins / 9 Poles / 5 Fastest laps
Well, 13th is ok, I guess. At least I'm not overly disappointed. On the other hand somebody has to thank me, I think :-p
Midfield, my best result for me at the moment.
Just a pitty someONE makes a silly brake just ahead of me, wasting what should have been my better lap for sure. :-/

A bit disappointing qualifying considering our perf. Hopefully Ed and me can make a bit more out of it.

As for the activity penalties, it's a shame to see John and Adam leave for the rest of the season.

GPGSL : Team Owner of 'Maverick Track Performance' (MTP)
Rather hoping for an improvement on Singapore...it's difficult to read where we are this weekend so I'm really gonna have to string together a perfect quali lap.

That's way off pace :(

oh dear oh dear
Great run from Stu to show that we have some pace here. Greg didn't have the upgrade package running and so we elected to do setup work with his car instead. Hopefully qualifying will be a little more fruitful.

GPGSL - Christel VXR team Boss S6-S8, S12 Onwards

Terrible lack of speed from me. Think those 2 servings of pavlova on Christmas Day, and the pudding, and the turkey, ham, chicken.... and not to mention the alcohol. They are my excuses....
Good run from Seb though, up their towards the mid-pack. Shows we do have something under those engine covers!

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
That was terrible! I love this track so much but couldn't find the right setup in dry conditions. It's a shame but that's the way it is. Top 10s will get me nowhere but at least I score points. Good luck in the quali and race guys. Looking forward to the next one already.

Not a superb result. Hopefully Carlos and I will be able to do somewhat better

Great performance by both mal and Dominic! Guess that proves we have the pace for a big qualifying.

GPGSL Season 8 Malaysian GP - Sepang - Qualifying

(Track by SchueyFan, Ruboy, Gildoorf, Prblanco, Ricardo Lampert, TTM, MarioB, b-tone and several others)

Hello and welcome everyone here at the Sepang International Circuit to the qualifying for the fourth Round of the GPGSL.
This track is well known for producing some very rainy sessions, but for today the forecasts say it'll stay dry.

First man on the track is reigning champion Ed Greenhalgh

Purple times in the first two sectors, obviously

And crosses the line with a time of 1:33.808s

Next one is Spencer, and he's very close in sector 1

Almost 3 tenths faster now in sector 2, very impressing!

Provisional pole for Spencer, and what a lap!

Rodríguez is next, and he beats Spencer's time in the first sector

Still ahead in sector 2

But he loses some time in the last sector, but nevertheless 2nd for him

Matteo Scala in his first outing as racedriver since the end of season 4, but that's already quite a gap to Spencer

3 tenths behind in sector 2

And he's slowest so far

Now it's Hunsley's turn

0.1s behind in sector 2

3rd place for him at the moment

Pedersen is next, and he's pretty close in sector 1

But he's almost 3 tenths down now

That's the 5th place for the Christel driver

Another one who is very close to Spencer in sector 1, will Edwards now be able to beat the poletime?

He has lost a tiny bit in sector two, but he is still in touch

That wasn't enough, 3rd for him

Next one is his teammate Horváth

0.2s behind in sector 2

And that's 5th place for Horváth

8 drivers have done their run, and this are the current standings

Now it's Greidanus' turn

That won't be enough for pole

6th place for the Dutchman

Hinz is next, almost the same time as Spencer in sector 1

Still very close in sector 2

But he has lost a bit in the last sector, and that puts him in 5th

Somogyi also pretty close

But he has lost much time now

Over half a second down in 11th

Spencer's former teammate Elleker is next

But he doesn't seem to have a chance to beat him

6 tenths down in 12th place

Jalving pretty close in the first sector

But he too loses in sector2

Noone seems to be able to beat Spencer's time today

Santilal, who has replaced Davies at MAC, is the next one

Over half a second down in the 2nd sector

14th place for him

Now it's Kederer's turn, he's very close in sector 1

Oh no! He risks too much and goes off in turn 7

He can go on, but he doesn't have any chance now

8 seconds behind in last place

Maverick tries his luck

He has gained a bit in sector 2

And crosses the line in 4th

Spencer still at the top, he has pulled out a magical lap today

Six cars to go

Legge is 0.1s down in sector 2

7th place for the Demon driver

Now it's Gilson's turn, and he's ahead in sector 1!

He even increases the gap

And that's a new pole time!

Van Renselaar way behind that time

Only 17th place for him

Next one is Gilson's teammate Ross Cartwright

He's over half a second down in sector 2

Over 7 tenths slower than his teammate

Warrington also without a chance to beat Gilson's time

Only 19th place for the former champion

Steer is the last one to do his lap, and it looks like Gilson will get his second pole this season

Yup, no chance for Steer

Down in 20th place, way behind his teammate

Here are the final standings

Congratulations to Joseph Gilson for his second pole this season!

8th place will do. A good start is crucial to any aspirations of a podium.
