Maybe so.... but Trulli's reputation as a one lap specialist is prolific, even gave Alonso a run for his money.

Trulli is a strange one, because he's shown some mindblowing form at times, mainly in quali but he's also had races - even strings of races, like he had in the first half of 2004 - where he's shown the kind of form that implied he should be a potential champion. But mainly due to his overall lack of consistency, his record of actual achievements is strangely empty.

it's mostly about the car anyway

It is mostly about the car agreed. Yet it still takes a top driver to drag the last couple of tenths from it, so it's still good for a team to have an ace like Alonso, Vettel or Hamilton up it's sleeve.

I've heard unofficially that Trulli and Kovalainen have signed for Lotus in 2010, what do you think? Trulli for the lead drive?

You've heard unofficially? As in the coughing man in the raincoat at the parking lot? :P

Probably yeah since Gascoyne has been waxing lyrical about Trulli from the outset. Mind you... Gascoyne will probably be sacked before too long :P

Yep, there's definitely a Gascoyne-Trulli thing going on. Wherever Gascoyne goes, Trulli seems to follow - it's uncanny.
And no, Gascoyne might not stay there too long, depending on how Lotus perform in their first season.
Gascoyne's career has been all about patterns so far, it seems.

Looks like Trulli & Kovalainen to Lotus is a done deal then.

Yup.... tis official now. With Fairuz Fauzy (spelling?) as third driver, so he'll get to literally 0 miles then :P

A good solid team, which is what they needed. I think Kovalainen still has a lot of potential, and might thrive now that he is out of the high-pressure McLaren environment. It seemed that in 2007, when everyone wrote him off in the middle of the year, he performed well, and with little expectations in 2010, he could do quite well (providing he can qualify well). Trulli, while he might have quite a few off days, is the sort of driver that, on his day, could get a car like the Lotus well up into the points.

Even better is the new team logo

"I hope everybody likes the logo and enjoys a small glimpse into the livery of our race cars for our first season." - Tony Fernandes :) :)

That new logo is wholly underwhelming. Should just use the Lotus emblem. I mean imagine if Ferrari had been missing from F1 for years... and someone secured the rights to use the name...and then and left the prancing horse out of the brand :P

Finally, green and yellow is back in formula 1. Only white, red, blue and silver would be boring. ;)

Agreed. Can't blame Lotus for choosing two of the most dependable drivers on the grid, as well as one - in Trulli - who can be damn quick at times. Kovy probably does have unrealised potential, I agree, but meantime he's someone who can be relied upon to finish consistently and score the team a few very important points in 2010.

Actually it reminded me more of this:

Wish their cars would have a livery which looked at least similar to this. Sexy as hell. :D

Page looks great.. Excluding some face on the main page wich I would prefer to disappear from F1.

Here is a spyshot of their car. [img.mtv3.fi] (atleast alphabet and colors match) The ultimate GP4 vehicle.. ;)

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

From their website it looks like they have also got a good range of sponsors/partners already, including FxPro, who were at BMW in 2009.

Good to see di Grassi finally get into F1, and its great to see that (so far) the new teams have gone for speed/experience (with some money probably) instead of just going for the highest bidder.
