You're being ignorant. As I stated, his celebration was for his son. You could say Schumacher's celebrations were fake, after all the only thing he'd do would be the jump. Don't speak in the plural when it happened once ;-).

I'd imagine a party done in Abu Dhabi is a party done well. I'm sure a few $$$ were sent in order to host the final race too - you'll always win Bernie over with those.

The Brazilian GP has never been overly popular the teams. The circuits a hole, the city is terrible and the surrounding slums have led to some pretty ridiculous crimes (safety car seat belt theft anyone?). I doubt the teams want to end a season on that note anyway.

Did Abu Dhabi actually pay for the last slot or was it purely for practical reasons, since the track still hasn't been finished.

Purely as a TV spectator, ending in Brazil was fantastic. Not only did it provide some great races, the passion of the crowd made for a great atmosphere, even on TV. The scenes after the Brazilian GP with Massa interacting with the Brazilian crowd on the podium were unforgettable. F1 should end in a place with a traditional following of the sport, just like Adelaide and Suzuka in the past.

In contrast to this, Abu Dhabi will probably appear lifeless and empty. Obviously they can't help this in part because of the location itself, but even so, they are still only expecting a crowd of 50,000 on race day (and expectations are usually higher than what actually happens). As such, there won't be nearly as good as atmosphere as at Brazil or Japan. The twilight finish is an interesting novelty, but is still quite an artificial way to create some interest in the event.

@Nick, I think it would be part of their contract, but that is still not set in contract, as the Australian GP has as part of its contract that it would be the 1st race, and clearly in 2010, it isn't at the moment.

tbh I think you'd stuggle to beat an atmosphere of Brazil anywhere in the world.

It's the one race that on TV you can visually see the enthusiasm/excitment to a good degree, and of course the noise! Silverstone and Monza come close though

It's funny in Interlagos.

A rainy day at the circuit:

To return to Abu Dhabi, it seems that they'll be driving during the sunset. At the start there will be still some sun, but the finish will be dark. Should give some great images :D

I can see the drivers moaning already, like in Australia when they moved the race to a later time, about the sun hanging so low.

With the hundreds and millions spent on a team, I'm sure they can come up with a polaroid visor.

Neither go as fast as F1.

I think they should be fine, they do testing in the same conditions and there are plenty of buildings around. Have the helmets with the dark lids and have the track lights on from the beginning and they should be fine.

Entry speed into T1 at Michigan, Fontana, Atlanta, Lowes and Texas is over 200mph. LMPs will hit that on Mulsanne. Both go as fast, sometimes faster than F1 cars depending on the circuit.

Next argument.

I was unaware that the laws of light and physics changed when you moved from an oval to a road course. Oh, and yes, Mulsanne is part of a Road Course. So is Sebring, Road America, Road Atlanta, Suzuka, and Daytona. Other popular road courses which host races which have day to night transitions in cars which travel as fast as Formula One cars.
