I may have been dozy after the race, but did Ross Brawn say that they ran with fuel in practice? :)

Ferrari were quick, just not quick enough to get Massa out! ;)

Williams and Toyota and Red Bull are gonna push Brawn all the way, especially Vettel even with the penalty!

Not sure where he got it from though, i cant find it on the FIA site yet.
If its real, well, Button looks good for the win if its dry. Dont know why toyotas would be same. Raikkonen not as heavy as i expected.
Interesting Kovy would be so heavy compared to hamilton, considering where they qualified..once again fuel correct, Hamilton would be outqualified i think.

yes, a good performance by heikki if that is accurate. also, vettel was extremely light, and he could get caught up amongst heavier runners if he isn't careful

Its only the top 10 that counts really for weight as the others can run what they want and in quali they were light. So no Kovy did not do that time on that fuel load.

Button's time is even more impressive tbh due to the fuel load.

The Hamilton fuel load above is listed wrong. It's 688.0kg, not 668.0kg.

All the others are correct.

hmm Alonso said after Q that he wanted to be in top 5-7 and yet he is the most heavily fueled in the top ten. Too high expectations?

rofl it seems they put fuel in every place they could find of Massa's car ;)

Anyways, perhaps in the end Felipe was the lucky one, now at least he can change the setup for rainy conditions in case of.

Obviously the BMW has more places to hide fuel, as Heidfeld is the heaviest with another 2.5kg, but is missing off that list.

Including the cockpit :) Felipe is going to run sumberged in fuel

lol ;)

@gav: oh, thanks by the info!

btw, regarding the rain tyres issue, the one wet version only is now going to be implemented only in next season (2010).

Just a thought.

With rain expected i imagine not too long after the race start ( i guess we dont know that, iam just guessing :p ) I half expected some short first stints, and at least a shorter one from Massa. A) to get a cleaner start in a messy part of the grid, and B) with the possible prospect of rain, and the obvious need to change tyres, a shorter stint could get Massa high up in the order before the rain falls...

But this is without knowing the forcast, or any of the data the teams have :p It was just logical thinking lol!

Conversely, the more you fuel the car up, the more chance you have that you can pit for both fuel and wet tyres if it rains, rather than pitting for fuel and then pitting 2 laps later for wets. That's the normally accepted form.

After qualifying today there was a huge thunderstorm. I have the feeling we'll somehow dodge all the rain all weekend and end up with a rather boring race (in comparison to what the rest of the season should be like).

Was watching the start of the 2001 race earlier, and was reminded that the chances of rain during the race was low, it would only be a sprinkling if it did rain and that any rain was only going to be later in the race. So yeah... good luck Meteo-France tomorrow. :P

I do do do hope though it is dry at the start and at least for an hours worth or race time because that way I dont think the rain could impact too much on the top guys, in which I hope JB and RB to be amungst!!!!

Mark Webber is going to be the one to watch imo.

Spot Sutil's fuel-load. Gamble? ;-)

Two practices in a row now that Heidfeld has been heaviest. Hard to know how he'll go cause his last race was over before it started.

Alonso's one is interesting...He was obviously determined to get into the Top 10, but then when he did he just acted as if he hadn't got in and filled up the car

Expect Sutil to barge ahead off the line. He's well lighter than those around him

He'll get Fisichella and Bourdais at best as all the others have KERS.

Unless he does a Verstappen 2001 into turn 1.

I think he used up all his soft-tires in q1 and q2 so there was no point in trying as he probably would have ended up 10th anyway.

What he needs is to avoid doing a Ralf 2001 into Turn 1 ;)

But agreed, he's unlikely to make much impression, he doesn't have the car underneath him to do that.
What he might well do is be one of the few who start the race on softs.
