2009 season thread- I know it's a bit early, but hey...

I dont think that Kovy is all that good. I mean, how many times he qualified in top 4, compared to Hammy?

At least he's out qualified Hamilton on occasion, including a pole position.

That's ever so slightly more impressive than being out qualified 18-0, Mr Piquet.

The same can be said about piquet though, how many times did he fail to get out of quali 3 and alonso made the top 10?

Kovy is a good driver, I still think good enough to challenge for the world title.

You can not go on qali 3 though as he was near enough always heavier on fuel, so if you actually correct the fuel Kovy would have done better than lewis. And Mclaren said that.
Kovalainen actually had only once lighter car than Hamilton in Q3, and at that time he got pole by half a second. (of course we don't know fuel loads ofthe races in which drivers had to pit earlier than scheduled)

I think it's quite intresting that he has been almost always fuelled heavier than Hamilton...

McLaren have paid tribute to the approach Felipe Massa took to his world championship assault this season, as well as the way he handled seeing the title slip through his grasp in the closing stages of the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Massa took the victory he needed at Interlagos to have a chance of beating Lewis Hamilton to the crown, and only after crossing the line did he find out that his rival had grabbed the fifth spot he needed to secure the title.

Afterwards Massa was gracious in defeat a factor that did not go unnoticed by the McLaren team who were celebrating their first title success since Mika Hakkinen's triumph in 1999.

McLaren F1 CEO Martin Whitmarsh said at the team's Woking factory this week: "Felipe Massa drove brilliantly to win the Brazilian Grand Prix.

"I'd like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the quality of his driving throughout the season and the impressively sportsmanlike way he handled the disappointment of finding out at the last minute that he hadn't won the drivers' world championship."

Bruno you should learn from them

Had he won the championship, would you have admitted that he has talent?

Nope. Had he not served as #2 in 2006 for a dirty driver, i'd probably have a different opinion. But he did, and thats unforgivable for me.

How have serving for Schumacher and having talent got anything to do with eachother?
What Nick said.

On a totally different subject, I hope Seb Bourdais keeps his place at Toro Rosso.

Another unforgivable reason is that he became a dirty driver like his dirty predecessor as well. Ask Alonso (Barcelona and Nurburgring 2007), DC (several times @ Sauber, and Melbourne 2008), Hamilton (Fuji 2008) and Kubica (Fuji 2007).

If you had talent in the MS era, there were two options: 1. being a opponent to MS, or 2. serve him as a teammate ;)

Ferrari and MS always prefered the 2nd option ofcourse, it was THE way too at least eliminate one possible opponent.

Another scenario: If you had talent in the MS era, you were nearly good enough to keep up with MS and therefore being a good teammate to him, by finish close behind him ;)

Untalented people don't come within an ace of winning F1 championships.

And he's not a prick, I've had media access at many F1-Tests thus I have been up close and personal to most of the current drivers at some point, and as I have said before Massa is one of the most gentlemanly drivers in the paddock.

He just pretends that hes a gentleman with anyone who has a camera (the press).
When there is no camera around hes definately a prick. His personality is as false as his talent.

How can you know? Have you met him? And if you did. Everybody has a bad day once in a while and come across a bit moody. Like you do every day.

So are you saying that to people who don't carry cameras or microphones that he's a prick?
