Different sites have different sources have different weather predictions, but rain doesn't look like hitting Sundays race. If it rained that would be great, Massa in the wall isn't a bad thing.

However a wet qualifying may shift things around, Vettel front row if it did rain.

Wouldnt be bad either, means that they wouldnt waste 2 hours of their lives in a crap track, and Irvine would agree :P

hmm translating back to english it reads "I will be really happy if either Kimi
or kovy have to have to let their teammates get extra points."

;)Does pissed off mean happy in German then?

nope

and if i would translate it back into english it would be something like:

i will be really happy if either kimi or kovy have to lend their teammates in order to get extra points.

now imagine how that sentence would read with crap grammar.

Totally agreed, it's on at a nightmare of a time in the UK. My way round it: I'm usually out clubbing on Saturday nights so I usually get home just in time to catch the start of the build up, TV on/VCR running, plenty of strong coffee keeps me fired up for the race. I can get away with it cos I don't have to be anywhere on Sunday till 5pm ;)

I hope there's rain involved somewhere, but not like last year - a race that's dry at the start with a few showers would be cool. If it's wet in quali expect the Ferraris to be well down as their car doesn't go well in those conditions. Good chance for Lewis to extend his championship lead this weekend.

Ferrari and Mclaren seemed to be very very close even on long runs.

The green paint comes off the rear tyres after 5 laps and u have no idea if its soft or not.

What was interesting though mclaren wore the green paint off alot faster than ferrari did. Mclaren fronts lost the paint the ferrari's did not seem to.

Mclaren have had problems all year with more tyre wear over long runs so am not too suprised they are losing the green stripes first.

Remember they're quite efficient at getting their tires warm, and they still fare quite well despite the rubber being worn down.

It's not necessarily the amount of wear that's the problem though, it's the effect of it and potentially the cause of it.

If the reason is they are over-using their front tyres and simply overheating them early on, then it's a bigger problem. If it's just getting down off the surface and into the more consistent rubber, then it's probably not so much of a negative and may actually prove beneficial to them over the course of a stint.

All depends on what they're going for.

I was surprised to see the outsides of the tyres appearing to wear more than insides though, but that could simply be the grains of rubber being pushed laterally across the tyre under load, giving the impression of more wear on the outsides.

Of course, with the limited running in the dry last year (the 2 Friday sessions), they still don't have that much data, so they're probably still finding their way, setup wise, 12 months on.

I'd put money on their being no crashes at all. We've been spoiled in recent races. Though I guess if everyone misses him, I guess Piquet will manage to find walls we previously hadn't known existed.

Thats the one good thing about the green grooves we can see tyre wear on different cars.

The point was, wear doesn't necessarily mean anything. Unless it gets to an extreme, or you're in critical circumstances (like Monaco), wear as a percentage isn't a concern. It's where the tyres end up as a result, and what may be a poor situation for one car may play into the hands of another.
