hehe double post guys so just changing it:

Ferrari will go back to using the traditional "lollipop" system in the Japanese Grand Prix following the problems they had in Singapore.

Brazilian Felipe Massa lost all his chances of scoring a good result in the night race after the mechanic controlling the innovative lights system made a mistake and turned the green lights on before the fuel hose had been detached from the car.

The lights system usually works automatically when the hose is removed, but the system was operated manually in Singapore.

Team boss Stefano Domenicali said Ferrari needed to simplify things at the moment, and so they will be using the lollipop system in this weekend's race in Fuji.

"In this moment we need tranquillity and therefore we prefer to go back to the old system," Domenicali told reporters.

Ferrari failed to score any points in the Singapore race and lost the lead in the constructors' championship to McLaren with just three races to go.

Massa is seven points behind Briton Lewis Hamilton

I'm surprised it took them that long to realise how useless it was.

Damn... well, something can still go wrong in their pitstops, the human factor is still there anyway ;)

Finally, at long last!! Just surprising that they persevered so long with what was clearly a risky idea.
P.S. Glad it was Stefano who spoke on the team's behalf, and not Luca Collijani ;)

It wasn't useless, they did win time with it, but because of the flaws, it was too risky. If they can make it work properly (which ofcourse should be possible, if your able to make an f1 car, you also should be able to make some high-end trafficlights), I think they can have advantage of it.

I don't think Ferrari have actually ditched this light system yet, they are simply reverting to the lollipop for the meantime.

Honda has nothing to lose anymore, as where Ferrari has. Honda can take the risk of using that system, nobody cares if they screw up.

I'd be more concerned that there is clearly a sock puppet in the driving seat.
