Do they think that by just painting something Green it suddenly begomes more environmentally friendly?!!

It's like saying "I know lets paint all these birds caught up in this oil slick green, that way we can lessen the impact it's having on the environment!" It's bloody lunacy!!

If they had come up with a new compound which lasts the whole race therefore meaning less waste I'd have been impressed, but this is just stupid!!

Funnily enough they already successfully did that in 2005. Yet some bright spark decided to revert back to tyre changes the year after.

It would look MUCH better if they used fluorescent green instead.

LOL that is funny, as I still remind a statement from Bridgestone regarding the 2009 Slick Tires and the possibility of marking the option Tires on the flank. In this Interview they stated that it´s NOT possible to mark the tires in another colour than white because the machine they use can only work with white colour for the marks. Surprise Surprise, maybe they have found a magic trick to turn White into ugly light green... not to mention that the machine seems to miraciously put RED flanks to Champcar´s / IRL´s Option Tires. Funny thing ...

PS: good thing though they won´t make the option tires with red flanks, because with the rule changes mosley has in the pipe for the future, you wouldnt be able to tell apart indycars from formula one cars in 5 or ten years ;) LOL

I thought you wrote Spearmint Rhino for a second Gav! Dumb idea and a laughable response by all the drivers.

Why don't they make teams pick before quali which tyres (hard or soft) they want to use, then make them qualify and race on those tyres (ala F1 97). It'd make for great racing I think (if the soft was faster but way less durable), qualifying would be less predictable, and there would be a greater variation of tyres used during the race.
Like now, everyone on a 2 stop will use the same tyres for the same stint, and it's crap to be honest, 1 stoppers will do say 60% on the hard and the rest on the soft, all the time.
Plus we need more than one tyre manufacturer!
