LOL! I saw the capital letters on live timing saying STOP but didn't know why.

13 rounds in and no different from the 1st :p. If he's in F1 at the end of the year ill be amazed. I thinks he should start looking over the Atlantic. Maybe IRL, thing is walls are much tougher than tyres, gravel and grass - his 3 best friends this season :p. Might knock some sense into him, and talent!

edit - sorry to stray off topic!!

anyway looked like a tough friday for all! The fp1 was very very dark!!!

I hope the conditions stay quite mixed, its Hondas best and tbh only chance of points this weekend, hopefully FI can put something together, in both sessions Sutil once again displaying his talent in these conditions. I really do fancy a Giancarlo points finish though.

yes, hopefully FI get at least one point somewhere. Here or Singapore are their best chances i think, unless there the 2007 Fuji weather returns for 2008.

Piquet in IRL would kill people. Give him a British Touring car, or that silly Brazilian Stock Car stuff that Latin American drivers retired to when they are too rubbish to get a drive elsewhere, or too old to walk 50 meters without pissing themselves.

FU

At least the Brazilian Stock Cars are better and more entertaining than NASCARS/IRLS in OVALS.

methinks someone doesn't appreciate the art of oval racing....

Winner: Not the Nickv Comment of the Year 2009

Due to the voting system in Germany, Governments are always made up of coalitions of different parties. At the last election, an almost unprecidented result saw the CDU/CSU (rough equivilant of the Conservatives) go into Government with the SPD (rough equivilant of Labour)

He thinks Barcelona has history and good racing, and that Helio got screwed out of the championship at Chicagoland. Of course he doesn't appreciate it.

I don't see his point anyway. Piquet is completely useless and won't be back next year. He'll bugger off to some random series and then eventually end up in Brazilian Stock Cars like all the other rejects. What this has to do with NASCAR I don't know.

You'll swallow your own words when we see him on the grid @ Melbourne'09...

Maybe so. But then again, losing Alonso I guess they'll have to have someone to fill the seat. suppose of Tarso Marques and Alex Yoong can last more than a season then Piquet should at least get 1 more race than just this year.

Looking forward to digging this up when Piquet appears in Brazilian Stock Cars in 2011 with no job.

How is this:

better than anything else?

One year later:

Things haven't really improved.

This is not racing, this is a bunch of amateurs on a racing track, making stupid moves and stupid mistakes. Maybe the definition of racing is different in Brazil, who knows...

Chet, I don't think you can give much credit to Sutil. The only guy he beat was Fisi. Everyone else strayed out afterwards and the conditions were on a continual downward spiral. Either too greasy on the drying track, or too wet when it started raining again.

And coming off the grid, will he swallow his tongue laughing when he plows into half the field at turn 1 again? ;-)

Credit due to him imo :) First session yeah he got lucky, he went out early on slicks and beat others who were on inters already, but the 2nd session he had allsorts of engine problems yet still made the top 10, which is a decent achievement! Dunno if he'll do well in quali, I reckon he maybe able to get through to the 2nd stage though!

He's not due that much credit. He forgot to come into the pits after the flag. :P

;)

Still he seems to be awesome in the wet. He seems pretty useless in normal conditions but in the wet he certainly is better than half the field imo. Though you cant keep a driver for the occasional wet race can you.

wherever piquet goes you can be sure his dad will follow buy a team, a well established team and put piquet in the number 1 seat ;-). Pretty much whats been happening the rest of his career isnt it ?

No. Ron Dennis put Hamilton in his training program. The Dennis-Hamilton situation was a team taking a driver, while the situation chet discribes is a driver taking a team.

Dont compare Lewis and Nelson... Lewis has won EVERYTHING. Maybe in top teams in some cases, but thats the same as everyone else! You dont win by yourself you win with your team. Besides Lewis's races with Manor were amazing to say the least. He put that car in some top posistions. Remember when he was in the top4 ( i dont remember too well ) at Macau in his first year - got punted out by non other than Nelson :p

The last championship Nelson won was the 2004 British F3 championship.

Name an instance Piquet has not driven for his dads team in a championship. There is not a single one.

Except this season... kinda says something doesnt it.

Anyway again sorry to go OT!

PS - thunderstorms expected tomorrow on weather sites ;-)!!! gonna be dark :D
