9.15am local time.

FBMWs are on circuit. Track is damp, but dry enough for slicks. Some puddles. Rain due at 10am.

are your a hamilton fanboy??

Nope, but he was pretty much right about Kimi..

Btw this track needs pretty seriously some tyre walls in first 2 chicanes. In GP2 there was on some laps many cars in row cuting the first chicane and in 2nd one some handless drivers spins 360 throught whole crap and only gets advantage from it..

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

i really hope it's a wet race, but not so much the bloody safety car is out for half an hour.

Porsche Supercup - track quite wet but if no rain comes then it could get drier for f1

Ferrari have just played the engine 'joker' on Massa's car for this race

It's not going to pour down by the look of it. Clouds are getting higher. It's taking an age to dry as those clouds were very low, but it's improving.

Wouldn't mind a dry race for once myself. I'm really looking forward to seeing Hamilton coming through the field. Hope McLaren don't just stick him on a 1-stopper.

thanks for the weather update gav. yeah in some ways a dry race would be good so as you say we can see hamilton coming through the field, hopefully wth kimi, although i can't imagine mclaren would do anything other than put him on a one-stopper.

i'm really building up vettel today, especially if it's dry. he just might have the speed to keep himself ahead of heikki, and i'd LOVE to see vettel win, he's been my 2nd fav driver all season long.

I agree with what someone said earlier about drivers cutting the chicanes. Those tarmac run-off areas are HORRIBLE and should be reverted back to gravel imo. Slowing down the car in time for a corner is a fundamental skill that drivers in ANY formulae must have, and if they haven't got it then they either shouldn't be racing, or they should be ready to accept the consequences of a retirement in the sand.

Thinking Vettel can beat Kovalainen in the dry is extremely optimistic.

We don't know what setup Kovalainen is on, though, and from the interview with Burger we know that Vettel is on a dry setup. Looking at the difference in pace between Hamilton and Kovalainen, maybe Hamilton is setup for the dry and Kovalainen for the wet? I'm hoping that Vettel will go for the podium, there's always a possibility for him to win (after all he did stick it on pole), but I wouldn't put my money on it today.

its a high-speed circuit, if you put tyre walls there you want to expect a big accident..

I still want it to be wet. If its wet then theres every possibility Vettel can take it.

All im hoping for this race is a strong result from Honda/Alonso/Rosberg, the usual :p

There wasn't really any difference between Lewis and Kovi in comparable conditions in qualifying. McLaren said beforehand they expected quite a dry race on Sunday so even if Kovi went "more wet", it wouldn't be enough to nullify the performance gap between the McLaren and Toro Rosso. Plus...

Speed traps from Qually yesterday:
ST1 - Vettel 1st 316kph, Kovalainen 3rd 314kph, ST2 Vettel 1st 322kph, Kovalainen 1st 322kph, ST3 Vettel 1st 304kph, Kovalainen 3rd 302kph. Not much difference is there?

Well.. Tilke could also help to make this a non-high-speed circuit, if it sounds better in your opinion. Anyway both GP2 races didnt have anything to do with sport. It was a mess and I seriously hope same wont happen with F1 race.

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

I hope Vettel does well, and I hope this race brings something exciting from Hamilton and Raikkonen.

The rain is falling heavier now, apparently it's more suitable for full wets than intermediates at the minute.

Indeed. Remember in 1996, there was a big hoo ha about the drivers taking too much kerb at the chicane. So they bolted tyres down to stop it. Needless to say that there were only a couple of cars that didn't clout these come race day.
