The lap time is near to Massa's pole lap last year
But can they do well with heavier load like Q3?
I don't think they will have the advantage

well that was a 4-5lap stint for Hamilton? Have we seen Ferrari on a short stint like this with softs?

We already saw it at Melbourne. Heikki was heavier than Massa and he was still ahead. Mind you, I'd rather see Kimi on pole, but I'm just stating the reality :)

Well Kimi's 35.4 at the end was after a 7-10 lap run (lost cont) on softs.

I see. Well i guess it all depends on the weather tomorrow. Maybe some teams will go for wet setup if the race is forecast to be rain (which i think it is?)

massa pitted when the first sc went away for fuel.... so you dont know how heavy massa really would have been.

According to the live timing
Ferrari was doing some long run as they didn't pit for long time

Ferrari look like they've got Mclaren covered now that they're back on proper circuits, thats if they get to the end of the race. 1st corner looks like it could be worse than melbourne with the way the cars are sliding around.
Also noticed kimi almost came to a complete stop just outside the pits right at the end of FP2.

What do you mean for Kimi?

Kimi didn't stop after FP2..Kimi said car is working really well and poleposition is his target and very much possible.

TS says that Ferrari's problems are with the warning system which works via the ECU. In Melbourne the engines just became too hot so they broke. The heat's been there before too, but then Ferrari has been able to get a warning in time and warn the drivers about it. McLaren's ECU didn't give a warning to Ferrari's computers though.

To me, DC's failure looks like an anti-roll bar failure as he's going through the corner. Certainly something breaks in the suspension/wheel before he even gets to the curb.

indeed it can clearly be seen from onboard cam that suspension suspension was broken before he hit the curb.

Kovalainen said Ferrari looks very fast and that Lewis did different program than he and made his best laptime with lower fuel load.

Here are the laptimes from the stints that contained Massa's, Raikkonen's, and Hamilton's best lap. (Doesn't include in/out laps).

Massa
20 1:35.728
21 1:36.343
22 1:43.384
23 1:35.687
24 1:40.730
25 1:35.485
26 1:39.984
27 1:35.206

Raikkonen
25 1:35.592
26 1:36.359
27 1:36.630
28 1:36.210
29 1:36.654
30 1:42.119
31 1:36.054
32 1:36.826
33 1:42.798
34 1:35.428
35 1:36.240

Hamilton
29 1:35.055
30 1:35.374
31 1:41.389

This could be a good news for Ferrari
Over long run or with a car with heavier fuel load
Ferrari showed a much more consistent pace

Preserving the softer tyres will be another factor during the race
As you see Hamilton can only post one relatively faster lap 35.005 to 35.374
