The new Williams FW30 was unveiled at the Valencia circuit on Monday before completing an installation lap as fog covered the Spanish circuit.

German test driver Nico Hulkenberg was the man in charge of completing the first run with the new car from the British squad, who will not hold an official launch this year.

Williams could complete just one lap as the circuit was closed due to the thick fog, which made it impossible for drivers to see the track properly.

The Toyota-powered FW30 is expected to continue with its first run as soon as the circuit is opened.

Renault were also hoping to begin testing their new R28 today, but the team had to stay in the garage due to the weather conditions.

Looks quite neat & tidy IMO - Hopefully it'll be worthy of Nico's talent...

There's nothing at the back end. Just what looks like a girder over the gearbox to support the rear light. Awesome. :D

The front's got a bit of the RB3 about it, and those suspension covers/camera mounts at the front look pure evil.

Love the livery, though those 3 stripes upfront spoil it. Shame they won't be keeping it. :(

Alot of teams seem to have taken the mclaren approach at the front, so far toyota, williams, bmw, rbr.

Need to wait for better pics though I guess. That livery is going to be a bastard for wanting to look at its details!

Yeah, i saw that too, and most of them didn't even bother to approach it on their own manner, the bridge wing is just copied exactly on at least the Williams, Renault, RBR.

The williams looks nice however, i do like the livery in all it's boring simplicity, it makes the car look clean.

I find it a bit silly for williams to let a complete rockie do the 1st laps in the car, he went off and damaged it

Frank Williams has always had faith in rookies, i guess ever since Senna, and since he let him go, but yeah this was rather a silly thing to do. however do we know if he spun or it was a mechanical problem.. ? or even oil spillage, like Alonso Spa 2004..

He let Alonso go, and much more, but you cant have all the good rookies, but the rookies he had where quite good.

did he... ? as far as i know macca picked kimi up quick... as for alonso, briatorie did the same but with senna frank had the chance to sign him after testing him and lost him... he later said one of the reasons he signed jenson was because he was never going to let a young quick rookie go again after seeing what senna turned out to be. sadly jbs stats are not the same ;)

I read that that particular livery is designed to thank Williams' fans, team members and previous sponsors. Apparently the names of 500 odd current staff members and 85 previous sponsors are on the car- which all I can think of are listed in very small writing in the three columns on the nose.

Very sexy car...
