In F1 racing this month they post some of the best F1 moments

Heres a selection of ones i personally have never seen until now

Ayrton Senna walks out of a drivers briefing, fascinating insight into the F1 holy of holies at Suzuka 1990.

Jackie Stewart touches a nerve with Senna during an interview

Senna in a NSX at Suzuka, a camera mounted in the footwell shows him heel & toeing, amazing throttle control- and some Micahel Jackson style white socks and black shoes :)

And some recent recommenadations from F1 Racing ( although i have seen :) )

JPM VS kimi

Alonso onboard Hungary 2006

Mika's awesome move on Schumacher Spa 2000 despite Michaels naughtiness on the first run down after eau rouge

:)

Seen all the Senna stuff before, youtube is good for the kids who couldn't see this kind of stuff from the past.

I was really surprised to see it in F1 Racing, even on the front cover! Don't all F1 people want YouTube to burn and die for even thinking about allowing F1 videos to be put on?

Well i can see that point of view. Lots of rare clips that i for years and thought that i was one of the few who had them are now on YouTube. However you can't put full or extended highlights of historic races on there.

WOW! just watching senna, not even talking, he just had something about him, like some sort of aura surrounding him, mesmeric to watch.

seen the NSX one before.

so what was the issue in the Senna briefing clip? Piquet said that if you miss the chicane, you should stop there and wait till there isno traffic to be released onto the track again by a marshall? and Senna said he raised that point before, but no-one agreed with him then, but now everybody agreed with Piquet?

in the Stewart interview, Senna looks very much like a friend of mine, the shape of his face and particularly his hair.

Possibly that Senna the year before got disqualified after the marshalls helping him after prost turned into him at the final chicane, prost retired but senna carried one the race, only to be kicked out the race afterwards by the stewards for missing the chicane ( it was a bit harsh to honest after they had already overshot by some margin)

In that video where piquet is talking about being pushed backwards to the chicane as being dangerous if theres an oncoming car approaching obviously pissed senna off as he didnt do that, but drove safely through the escape road and rejoined, then got disqualified for it and i'm guessing no one stood up for him in the aftermath

Maybe also the fact that Piquet was now saying it a year later pissed off senna even more as he might have taken it that piquet was winding him up by that very fact and they famously didnt get on together.

Ron Dennis chirps up " does everyone feel that way?" and when they all say yes senna says " thankyou very much"

You can understand why, given that they all agreed that was the safest option, yet the year previous Senna did exactly what they'd just agreed and he was disqualified and he lost the championship over it

Wasn't a push start given as the official reason for the disqualification?

not found anything apart from illegally cutting the chicane

initally they tried pushing him back & if you watch the video its to untangle both cars as the wheels were interlocked, the other marshalls on prosts car pushed his car forwards to aid the unlocking of the wheels, but then once they pushed him forwards he bump started the car and drove off down the escape road.

Piquet said if the stewards turn you around and face the chicane to rejoin the track its dangerous, and if another car is approaching it could hit you.

As far as i can find on the net, Senna was DQ for not driving back through that forementioned chicane and going down the escape road instead

I'm only trying to summarize for Muks_C

Do you always have to be so pendantic when you post in threads as its gets annoying after a while?

Drivers have been disqualified for a push start before Senna and the rules now state (and have done so for a while) that if an engine restarts after a push regardless of the car's position (dangerous or not) then the car is excluded from the results.

Edit: i was wrong about the push back.

I cant find any official clarification on wether it was the push start that resulted in Senna being DQ, only the cutting of the chicane is being reported on the sites i looked on,

That was the reason given to disqualify Senna despite the fact that Senna had no option to go anywhere else other than reverse into oncoming traffic. Everyone in the paddock other than probably Prost thought the decision and subsequent penalty and fine to be outrageous and undeserved but Jean Marie Balestre, the FIA president, didn't like Senna but was good friends with Prost.

Officially, Senna was DQ'd because he entered the track at a different point to the one he left it. I.e., he 'cut' the chicane. I'm not sure there were any rules banning push starts back then.
