Midland F1 Racing MD Colin Kolles claims the all-new M16 car, which was unveiled on Friday at Silverstone, is proof of the team's "serious intentions" in Formula 1

Midland, the first team to enter grand prix racing with a Russian racing license, bought Jordan at the beginning of 2005 and has spent much of this winter working on its V8-Toyota powered new chassis and restructuring the team and headquarters.

"It has been an exciting, sometimes bumpy ride since we accelerated our plans and became involved in F1 a year earlier than expected," said Kolles.

"But through all the ups and downs, we maintained a clear vision of where want to be and, step by step, we are getting there.

"But even though we have invested a great deal into building a brand-new car, we remain realistic about the challenge we face as a private team against the world's top motor manufacturers."

Technical director James Key believes that M16 is a significant improvement over the team's previous car

Is it me or does the M16 not look that different from the old car? Don't think it will be that much faster than the old car.

Excellent launch there, such class. Behind the back of a lorry.

It's the shade of red that's ugly, get that changed and I don't think it would look quite as bad. Still not good though. But then I don't think it's all that bad really.

I think its an awesome shape and livery... I could be the only fan of this!

seems its got all the bits of last seasons cars that looked good, and not too much weirdness either.

the nose looks cool, if ever this is to be made for GP4 itll be my choice of team to paint on the template!

B-E-A-UUUUTIFUL!

I quite like it. The sidepod livery looks a bit displaced, but they could have done a lot worse with the colour scheme. 90% of new liveries seem to be condemned by fans, for example I don't think there has been a universally popular livery yet this season.

URGH!

I said it before, that Midland were just being like Minardi were, and here they are, with more sponsors on that car than they have team personnel!
And who the hell are "RHINO's"??? Why are they the main sponsors?

I thought that the team was bought to advertise "MIDLAND" as a company brand? Funny that they only seem to have one logo, across the front of the rear wing.

The shape just looks like they have copied other teams too - that nose is off Renault, the sidepods are off BAR (sorry - Honda :-) )

Sorry - not impressed, but then I wasn't thinking I would be...

it's not brilliant, but not too bad.

why is there criticism for the amount of sponsors logos? they need the sponsors to survive, look at the last Jordan, it had hardly any, and they had to sell up.

being a crap team, you only get a little bit of money from the sponsors, so you need lots more of them to get a good total amount of money, hence the millions of logos on the car.

Holly Russian Batman

Damn that is one hell of an ugly beast....and I am NOT even talking about that exepiercing livery yet.
What a f@cked up carshape that is... Put as much wings on it as there were in the store and you have an F1 car...

And I gotta admit that I don´t like the whole team... Just look at the pic of the drivers and Team members standing alltogether ... Alex Schnaider looks like the cheap er copy of an already cheap looking Mafia Boss Wannabe
Winkelhock looks like someone that hasnt slept in days and hasnt seen a shower in the same time either.
Oh...i guess im slipping away again LOL

just one word:

UGLY !!!!
