He would have won it if BAR hadn't given him dry tyres

no he wouldnt. you seriously think the mclaren could have gone much faster? and that he would have passed all those cars.

using that logic massa would have had a podium bar sauber screwing him over.
Great drive by Tiago, a very well deserved point!

What a move by button, around the outside at Pouhon :D

well the last pit stop would've been avoidable, if they would've stayed with the slicks. webber definately pwned anyone else who dared to try slicks (and even some of the intermediate guys), so i'm impressed. ahh and WELL DONE tiago. :)

our prayers were nearly answered with a Macca 1-2, unfortunately it wasn't to be.

we haven't seen a full replay of the JPM incident, so we can't say whos fault it was.

2 good moves by Button, around the outside of JV at Pouhon, and inside Rubens at Bus stop.

when we came back from the adbreak and saw a smashed up Renault, I jumped for joy, hoping it was Alonso.

and good tactics by McLaren to switch drivers, although they would have been justified if they had simply done a blatant swap, but that would need cooperation from JPM, and maybe he wouldn't be too happy about it.

and MS became another notch on Sato's bedpost (as it were!).

nice little slap of the head from MS.

and in the pre-race bit when they showed all the accidents form previous Spa races, when Mika passed MS around Zonta, the caption said 'Belgium 1998', when it obviously was 2000.

and what was Tony on about? he kept saying the last McLaren 1-2 was Australia 2000.

and Angus Scott seemed more natural in front of the camera than Jim Resenthal all weekend. you can see Jim trying to listen to what the director is saying in his earpiece, while also trying to listen to who he is talking to on-screen, and bumbling his way through it.

RIP Jules, never to be forgotten. #KeepFightingMichael

Toyota could have been 2 cars on the podium without those tyre mess-ups :( Ah well, they're a relatively new team and mistakes are expected. The big thing for them is that they're gonna finish behind Ferrari for sure now, a bad call IMHO.

As for McLaren, I KNEW something would happen, though I didn't know which driver :) Kimi had driven better today, so in a way it's better that it's Montoya.

And stop the barrage against Pizzonia, please. He drove magnificently these last 2 weeks, do you think it's easy to control a car in those situations? If so, by all means be my guest to try. It didn't look like Montoya gave him much room (they seemed to have collided on the outside of the track, as if JPPM had pulled in front of him).

I didn't barrage Pizza-boy. I think it was probably Montoya's fault, not moving over for a faster car :-)

According to Ron Dennis, Juan had just overtaken Pizzonia, and Pizzonia missed the brake point.

For me it was clear Juan Pablo let Kimi win by his own decision. He was as fast as Kimi when he was fighting with Ralf, and after Ralf went to the pits and saw he went back again to swith tyres, Juan Pablo backed off, so why there's people saying Juan Pablo wouldn't have helped him anyway? or at least that's why I understand. He has always said, that He would help Kimi if he's out of the championship.

yeah, schumacher won that race. unless schumacher was driving a mclaren........

yeah... he seemed a bit nervous if anything, or just not used to it, but he did a much better job. seemed like he cared about motorsport, unlike rosenthal

That video clip prooves nothing at ALL! Thats 3 corners! He did it on his slowing down lap, further round! Learn to understand how McLaren operate. They are dodgy as F$$$!

As much as I hate to admit it. ITV showed that Montoya does himself NO favours when lapping people, by then cutting them up. So he puts them in the position where they cant help but hit him. once is unlucky (Brazil) But twice this year shows a fundamental error in race craft!

I really enjoyed this race! Villeneuve had his moment on the raidillion too! :-)

My opinions:

Kimi - Perfect race, no comments

Montoya - Great race but a pitty for him that Kimi had to win. No comment about thePizzonia incident because there were no good images of that.

Alonso - Reliable race in tough conditions because his car was setup for rain conditions. Scored in the points, did what he had to do!

Schumacher M - Shame for him that Sato hit him at la source. Could have finished on the podium!

Button - I don't know if he really deserved that podium, think there were faster drivers on track! But he did a great move on Villeneuve!

Webber - Finally a good result for the Aussie! Could have finished higher if he didn't had to pit twice in the safety car situation

Ralf - Had a great race and I really think he could have won if he didn't made that guess for the tyres...

Actually he was with dry setup, with very low downforce. He should have been very fast on sector 1, but it was the most wet sector during all race. Fisichella had a similar setup, but according to Montagny, he had a little more downforce than Fernando.

McLaren did the best job with the setups: Pedro de la Rosa said they were intermediate setups. Toyota's performance is also very relationed with setups: they were for wet and that explains why they were so fast in the first part of the race

TOMA!!!
No team orders with my mclaren ???? my ass !!!

WTG Monteiro !!!

Sato go to gp2

6-6 kimi vs alonso, nice to see the outcome of that cause the WC is for alonso!

But Spa was the best race of the year !!!!!!!!!

yup, well I understand the teamorders from McLaren. I appreciate them much more, they don't do it like ferrari! That's the perfect way not to spoil the sport to much...

Ron has always stated that Macca don't use team orders 'unless only one driver can mathematically win he championship'. That's the case now, and therefore the team orders were perfectly OK
