mika won his first title in 1998 his 8 year in formula 1,
he drove the MP4\13 4+1+3=8,he won 8 races and 8 pole postions,it was the 8 title for Mclaren in both drivers and constructores,Hakkinen name consests 8 letters,so as Mercedes.and yes,his car number was 8.

On a side note, the expression "On Cloud 9" is said to come from the first book to split up the types of cloud (into 10 different ones) of which the plumpest and softest looking was Cloud no 9 "Cumulonimbus".
