GP4 Central - Website to close

This whole thing sounds like a good bit o' fun.
I dislocated my shoulder before the start of Silverstone, but I was hoping to be right in time for Brazil.
But, following an appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon today, looks like I'm gonna have to wait until Germany, if not Monza! :-(

Round 2 at Monaco starts today. The weather is fine and sunny, perfect for some hotlaps! View the Event Page at GP4 Central here.

We are using the original 2001 version of Monaco because some of the more modern versions, while much better than the original, are very hi-res and that might affect some competitors with slower machines.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: There is a mistake in the Monaco version that I included in the mod - the cars face the pitlane at 90 degrees, and not 45 degrees like they should. I'm not sure how that happened, sorry. I will issue a fix shortly but hotlaps performed on the current version will be accepted, so it won't affect the competition. Edit: Here is a link to an updated monaco.dat file. Overwrite the old Circuits\monaco\monaco.dat file with this one if you want to fix the car pitbox orientation. You do not have to use this file if you don't want to.

Also get well soon Aus_Doug!

Congrats to Jorge on his second victory of the season. It was a very close contest this week!

And well done Eric on those first points for P7 in the Lotus Renault ;)

Next up - a track that could not be more different to Monaco. Make sure you pack a fresh engine, we're off to the Boromo Superveloz in Brazil for a high speed blast around one of the best fictional tracks ever made for GP4! See you there.

Thanks Tom,
Actually i almost didnt submit a lap. I think i was kind of lucky that i won the event.
If you look at the date and time of the file its close to the finish time of the event.
The setup was horrible in S1 and S2. S3 was very good.

Boromo thats a track that i never raced before. Looking forward to it.

Kind regards
Jorge.

Round 3 of the Championship starts today at the Boromo Superspeedway in Brazil.

I think my poor underpowered Williams is going to struggle here!

Great news Tom.
Looking forward to Boromo. I have never raced it.
Their is no base setup, so all of us have to be creative in this event.
I always welcome challenges.(Y)

Tom their is a problem with the track checksum
The webpage says it should be 70466d44h

I installed the track in the Track folder that i created and i pointed to Gpxpatch 4.23 to where the track it is
and i get this:

Custom track 3: 'Boromo Superveloz'
checksum 70536742

As you can see i installed it in slot 3 as you put in the instructions.

Can you have a look at it. (Y)

Its ok Tom.

Lap submited. I think its very good.

I submited early so people can download it and use the setup
because their was no base setup for this track.

Hope that helps. (Y)

Thanks Jorge, that's great (Y).

We could do something like that for Season 2.

Dijon-Prenois
Jerez de la frontera (2011 update)
Norisring
Essington Park
Taruma

then adding other tracks to complete the season.(Y)

I will take a look at those tracks - some of them I don't know very well.

My idea is to use 5 different tracks every season, but also always have Monaco (you have to have Monaco!).

Hmm, something is obviously causing both checksums to be produced by hofxlap. I will allow both for this event, since I have seen both on my machine and I have not changed the track.

Supermonty - you should be able to submit your lap now. Please try again.

I will submit my first attempt tomorrow.

Tom, i actually think its something related to Slot 3.
I say this because if you look at the original Interlagos track (Slot 3) checksums
theirs 2: 5d3644bc9 and 09d54bca
I saw this in the many years when i checked in the GP4 leagues.

Ok, thanks ! But there is a new strange case: i've posted a basic setup's lap in 1.27.3 but the live timing page show 1.25 ?! I've downloaded the replay and the hotfxlap report put up the right time in1.27

OK so there appears to be a difference in your hotlap output between "car_fast_laptime" and "gpxlap_stat_fast_laptime". I had assumed they were the same in all cases but your lap disproves that. I need to talk to Rene about that.

For the purposes of the competition your laptime is "under investigation". Clearly it is wrong but I don't know why and that's a fault of my system, and not your lap, so I need to fix it! But thanks for pointing it out. I'll try and fix it asap.

Edit: Fixed.

Jorge - how do you get the two different checksums for Interlagos? What do you have to change?
