Apples are poor, I've used both Apple and PC quite a bit in the last 2 years and PCs are so, so much better for what I use them for. And what do I use them for...? Gaming, Scripting and Graphic Design. I think if you check Apple's ability in all of those 3 categories, the record is less than impressive.by Locke Cole - Off-Topic
Posts like this are rarely worth posting a sensible reply to. This one is no exception Much as I would love to defend MS, I really feel there is no need. Actually, I agree. When Coulthard went off, Schumi should have followed him on to the grass. In fact, if Coulthard had pulled off with a mechanical failure before that lap started, it would not be unreasonable to expect every other driver to pby Locke Cole - F1

I still maintain that if they're gonna do 2 Qualifying sessions, let times count from both of them. ESPECIALLY with the new format. First session = banker laps Second session = banzai laps Makes sense...by Locke Cole - F1
Schumacher's ONLY tough rival has been Mika Hakkinen, in 2000. In 1998 Mika had the car underneath him, but by 2000 Ferrari had caught up and it was a real battle between them and McLaren. Hakkinen drew level in the Standings after his win in Spa - despite being in an inferior car. In the last 10 years there has only been one other driver to have achieved that... There's a LOT of guesses up there! I really wish I could lay them all to rest but I really can't... anything I post would be another guess. However, I CAN shed some light on the Ferrari dilemma of 93/94 (high) - 95 (low). Well, not in a very technical way, but here it is: The aerodynamic rules changes substantially from '94 - '95, including lowering the Rear Wing height subby Locke Cole - F1
@Imran - yeah I certainly hope this new layout aids overtaking, I know what you mean. To get a decent chance of passing into there though, I think the long Blanchimot corner should be made a metre or so wider. They certainly shouldn't change the profile of the corner though.by Locke Cole - F1

Before you get your hopes up about making your own sound files, bear in mind that not all sound files are compatible with GP3 Sound Editor. As far as I can ascertain, it requires 22,050 MHx WAV files 8-bit of 16-bit Mono However, any attempts to modify existing WAV files of a different format to this GP3 format, and then export them to the game, will result in a corrupt file and GP3 will fail tby Locke Cole - Grand Prix 3
But if more people pushed in Qualifying and ruined their lap by accident, surely that would make for a less interesting race?by Locke Cole - F1
Good suggestion Ernest. I said Sauber belong in 9th based on overall season performance. Given the results they achieved they finished in a representative Championship slot, but on pace alone, they would not have been there. Generally I am against points for anything other than finishing position because I feel that it removes the emphasis from RACING, which is where the focus should be... evenby Locke Cole - F1
The gap from 1st - 2nd should be greater. There a re 2 suggestions for points scorers I'd recommend to the FIA if I could - the first having 8 scorers and the second with 10. 12-9-7-5-4-3-2-1 or 15-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 Both of these systems would have made for a better Championship fight IMHO, check the way the Champ tables would have panned out pre-Indy for confirmation. Bern-Grauholz rocks! Still use GP3 regularly. Lap 2, overtaking move into the long banked first corner, accidentally clipped the other guy's rear wheel and soared into the air, smacked into the underside of the crossover bridge LMAO!by Locke Cole - F1
Stop confusing logic with Vader Pre-Imola it was 505kg, post-Imola it was 515kg IIRC. Just to collate what everyone else has said so far. P.S. How much does a rhinoceros weigh?by Locke Cole - F1
Alex13, F1 needs Minardi and Jordan because of FIA proposals gaining pace over the last few years... There are a maximum of 24 slots available on an F1 grid. With 9 or 10 teams, that leaves 18-20 cars which is sufficient. However, if it drops to 8 teams, the FIA will give the nod for 3-car teams (i.e. making it up to 24 cars again). This will only drive costs up even further and heighten the gaby Locke Cole - F1

Marcl, heart failure after every testing session isn't good for you! I think you can lay to rest any fears about this F1 season not being as good as the last one... 2004 is shaping up to be an absolutely meteoric year. And as far as the times go, Ellis offers the best 'Pearl of Wisdom' in that Testing really doesn't mean much. For all we know, McLaren could be developing a rby Locke Cole - F1

If GP4 was more editable, I'd play it :P I've had DirectX 9 for ages now, and never had a problem before. There have been enough threads on this site on this issue for me to make an *educated guess* that it's to do with Graphics drivers.by Locke Cole - Grand Prix 3
Hiya. As is pretty obvious from the thread title, I've just installed a new system, including a GeForce FX5600 Graphics card. I've left the original drivers which came with the card. Unfortunately the keyboard error, where keys fail to respond for up to 10 minutes, has returned. So - simple question Does anyone know of any Graphics drivers for the FX5600 that will work no problem witby Locke Cole - Grand Prix 3
I thought Brands Hatch and Donington Park were converted over from TOCA Race Driver? They look VERY familiar, even down to the positioning and textures of the sponsor logos... Bathurst was DEFINITELY once a TOCA track in a previous life, hehe No mistaking that one.by Locke Cole - Off-Topic
When it comes to racing games, you are all too foten limited severely by the constraints of a single season. I LOVE variety in a racing game, and in particular the ability to expand and edit the files myself. Therefore, I haven't bothered with GP4 and have stuck with GP3. High-spec graphics aren't really my thing, and the level of customisation that you can into with GP3 blows all otheby Locke Cole - Off-Topic

Jeez, another problem... I have the Damien Legros editor now and have loaded up the sounds and exported them to the game. Problem 1 - the sounds in the game are NOTHING like the sounds which play in the editor. I originally thought that it was because I was trying to use Stereo sound instead of Mono, so I changed them.
