Has to be one of the mods I'm most looking forward to. Looking good so far.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
I think the problem I was having with too slow AI cars is exclusive to Zandvoort (altho I haven't raced much on the other tracks, so can't say for sure), and my guess would be that the problem is in the cc-line. For example, there's one corner that I always take flat out and the AI cars clearly lift quite a bit! Looking at the .dat file the cc-line actually looks fine there, whichby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Well this obviously is stuck because either JCaranti and his team were working in the assumption some guy would give permission to something (and turns out he wouldn't when he was asked), or they already had the permission but the guy changed his mind. I don't have enough knowledge to understand the situation further, but I'd suggest maybe re-doing from scratch that person'by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
I've pretty much fixed the problem of the conflicting faces (there are still some faces buried in the ground but I think they're not going to be a problem), and I've been having fun adding more objects in the first couple of corners, mostly trees, adverts and some areas of coloured grass. Also made some new track cameras. But the best news for the track was the release of the DTby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4

Now that I've tried it in-game, it's even better than I thought. The physics, the car graphics, the tracks, the sounds, all the little details, all is awesome. The game overall has a different feel and it's great this way. The only problem I'm having is that I was immediately faster than all the AI on a track that I had never driven on, on ace level.. this is coming from soby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Seems like this was quite a piece of work, with the whole 2-years-for-making-it and hundreds-of-megabytes-files thing :P Can't wait to try it, looking at the screenshots it seems superb. One question... does the 200 MB file include the circuits or are them only included in the separate trackpack? edit: nevermind, i figured it out, tracks are only in the separate fileby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
I found a way to create land and things seemed to be going along quite well.. I got excited and made almost all the surroundings of the track: It even looked quite cool in places: (well, except for the over-usage of the green texture.. I swear I need to change that as soon as possible, it's making me wanna puke) Thing is, I kept looking at it from a top-view and didn't reaby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Thanks a lot guys, the hi-res cars are great looking, but even on my laptop which is pretty recent and has an ok graphics card, it is too heavy. I'll try these new cars. The only thing I don't like much in the mod is the physics, the cars to me seem to have too much grip, too little feel. I guess it is to get realistic laptimes, though. Looking forward to the CSM version.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
The amount of work you guys are still putting into GP4 is unbelievable. Well done to all the team, and I can't wait to try all this stuff once it is ready.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4

Nice, but one more doubt - how do you calculate the experience points of the real drivers?by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Probably a final phase of testing/searching for bugs.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
The website sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Right now, it doesn't. Seems like your hosting or redirecting site is screwed up. Is this like in the W300, where we need to make our paint schemes? I'd like to enter with a team but I'm *awful* at painting cars and helmets.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Maybe removing the black flag flags (lol) in GP4Builder.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Why not a real team from F3000 of that year? Or you could put Wirdheim in one car and Sperafico in another, each car with the colors of their respective teams (Wirdheim was the champion, Sperafico the runner-up). And make them 5 seconds per lap slower than everyone else, lol.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
The yellow and the white cars posted in the previous page are simply stunning, great job by whoever painted them.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
he means "gears" instead of "goes" :Pby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
I'm still stuck in making land for my track, i've been using GP4Builder to do it, but it takes a lot of time to connect every face one by one, and I messed up the mapping of my objects beyond recognition, therefore I need to remake it all over again. So I tried to use this program called Blender which is an open-source alternative to 3dsMax. It has a very confusing interface, but afterby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Woah at the video, the track's got a really cool flow and it looks nice graphically!by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
To do the distance markers i basically turn on both graphics and physics, count 10 sectors from the first curved sector, and place the 50 meter mark there, then another 10 sectors and place the 100 meter mark, etc. It isn't a very accurate way to do it but it's a decent estimation. Very nice work there you're doing on the graphics.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
You can only see the .dat file in the 3 different ways as in the pictures i've posted (click on them to see the full pictures).by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
The graphics options aren't selectable because you don't have a .gp4 file.. I'm not exactly sure what are you trying to do? To do a track from scratch, the usual way is to build the physics first (.dat), then worry about the graphics (.gp4). It's much harder any other way. And when you're working with the physics, there's only 3 ways to view the track, like inby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4

Go to display -> physics options -> then select plain and de-select wireframe. That should work even without a .gp4 file! The .gp4 file is only for the graphics. You can't create that file, you'll need to extract it from the .wad of one of the original tracks.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Click on the pitlane sector 0, and use the displace button (right next to "fix cam", then pull it with the mouse to wherever you want. I could help you with the elevations, but know nothing about GP3 track editing.. If there's any way of knowing the difference in height between the different sectors in GP3, it shouldn't be too hard!by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
This project has been stopped/going at a very slow pace for a while.. but today I decided to spend some time with it again and made some progress: This is just a small part of the track though.. it's still a long, long way from a decent release.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Thanks a lot guys, those tips solved the problems. I need to get a bit better at that mapping thing though, I'll mess around with it.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
This is a pretty insane project, I can't imagine the amount of work you're going to have if you want to do that many versions of the track! Good luck..by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
