I'm still trying to add shadows to my track.. now i finally managed to make them appear in-game, however i can't place them correctly. It's either floating a little bit too much above the track, or buried below it. When I move it with the move tool in GP4Builder it goes in intervals of 0.117m, but I want to raise it only 0.05m, for example. I've tried changing the values manuaby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Peekay on the gp4world boards had started a version of Brands Hatch that looked promising, but there seems to have been no progress for a couple months now.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
This is going to be a seriously crazy track! Can't wait to try it.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
You must have done something wrong the second time, because that's the method that I use the most, and it works fine. I group several trees into an object and then duplicate it.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
The pictures look really nice man, for example I'm looking forward to see more details of that Zakspeed livery in a modern car, but... how does this lineup work? Berger and Daddy Rosberg racing at the same time as guys like Hulkenberg and Kobayashi? There's like, 25 years of difference there. It's just completely random. :Pby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4

You need to change the names in the performance files, that's where the game reads the names from, when using GPxPatch.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
I was wondering about shadows of objects, like bridges, trees, fences... what is the method that you people (the more experienced track makers) get them to work in-game? I have tried to put shadows in my objects, but they don't seem to work. I think it might be some problem with converting the textures or something like that. I have shadows disabled in my graphics file, but they show up iby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4

Looks like you used a black texture for the entire track, try creating track from .dat with different textures.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Something's wrong, the A1 cars were teleported back in time into 1967. :P The mod is looking really nice.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
I don't really know what could be causing the pause problem.. maybe lack of cc-line? Graphics, well, that can take a lot of time and research! You can search in the original track textures for some tarmac, line, grass, bank and kerb textures, and start from there.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Today I decided to take some time to figure out how to import stuff from TOCA Race Driver 3 and adapt it into my track. So I got new tarmac and tree textures from there, also adapted some object for the start-finish line gate. Very important as well - the pitbuilding is now in-game. With the start-finish lane gate, the pitbuilding and some stands (once again thanks a lot to b-tone and MarioB forby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
- Your final track sector isn't overlaying into the first track sector, I think this is what is causing the crash. Look at how the original GP4 tracks are done to see what I mean. - The pitlane is waaaaaaay too sudden off the track, one of the ends of the pitlane isn't even layed fully into the track. This could also be causing the crash. - Don't forget matching the heights oby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Well.. I'm not a specialist or something :P But you could put it somewhere like rapidshare or megauploadby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Have you checked the track flags (pit lane start, pit land ends, etc etc)?by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
How come "nothing happens"? Does it crash straight away when you use only the .dat file?by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4

Sounds like the performance file of the mod isn't getting loaded. This has happened to me before with the 79 mod, I think. You can try loading it manually in GPxPatch: disable quickstart in CSM, go to the "GPxSet" tab, enable performance file and search for it. Not the perfect solution as it requires you doing a bit of work every time you enter the game, but it's a workarouby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
It was Melbourne. I'm thinking it might be a problem with the last version of GP4Builder or a problem with long tracks near the GP4 limit, since mine had 1473 sectors, 7.1kms long. How long is your track?by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
I had the exact same problem with a fictional track I was starting about two months ago. I never managed to fix it (well, it's not like I tried many things to fix it neither).by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
I don't know, but it could be related to the banking, it's not supposed to overlay itself like that. You should try messing with the banking angle of every sector of those tight turns to ensure, the banking of a sector doesn't go on top of the banking of another sector.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Sorry, I pretty much done nothing during this last month. Been busy with the graduation project which is turning out a lot more complex than I thought, and I've been simply lazy to re-install GP4 since the last installation went insane on my laptop. I'm thinking of releasing an half-assed version only with the pitbuilding and mainstand, with the rest of the missing details as it is,by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
No, I reverted to a previous version and it works fine.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
No, I never managed to get it working with more than the original 12 track cams.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Thanks, got it from there. Just trying to see if I can import textures and objects from it.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Looking nice, man. The more new tracks and new people working on tracks, the better. Could you or someone else please re-upload Jim's track converting guide from Toca? I found a link on the RealGPx forum but it's dead.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
I spin too much with TC already, lol.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Talented people? He's certainly talking about Jimbob, not me. :P Seriously, I have tried your Estoril track and it is fun, I appreciate a lot the work you've done in it. However the proportions of the track were a bit wrong, some turns had noticeably different shapes compared to the real track. So one day I was bored and tried to make it a bit closer to the real thing - it wasn'by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
