I updated a bunch of stuff (renamed the files to Hockenheim, changed the material of all rails and fences objects) but now the track crashes... only when using TSM. This is seriously boggling my mind - whenever I try to run it through original GP4 with GP4Patch it works fine, but if I do it through TSM it crashes just as i click the "Drive" button. I did something quite "risky&qby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
So, the main problem is scaling? I was starting a new Estoril .dat from scratch and the scale seems to be okay (4188 meters long, the real track is 4182). If you want, I can send you the .dat or the .gp4 file with the google maps image that I used as a base. Maybe it could help as a reference point.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
I haven't done anything with Madeira in the last week or so, but getting that one finished is the main priority, of course.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
I'm going to start with the modern layout and then we'll see. It's just because I can get the modern layout relatively accurate thanks to the google maps pics. But yeah, I know the older layout is much more interesting and would fit the 80s/90s mods that are out there.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
A bit unrelated... but something I did today:by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Virtual lap around Valencia:by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Yeah I used fence builder. Basically it's an object with "3 sides", one of the sides is the rails which are given tyrewall textures, the others are created with fence builder. I didn't know it was that easy to change track slots, i'll rename everything to Hockenheim then. Suppose I have to change the name of the .dat as well?by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Nice, maybe the livery of the World Series by Renault Tech 1 car could be a better base for this, than the Megane car, since it's an open-wheeler. There should be a lot of photos here:by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Well I know that would be much better, but I don't think it's possible to change now to Hockenheim. We'd have to re-make the .dat again on top of the original Hockenheim .dat, and transport all scenes and textures to the Hockenheim .wad, I think?by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Woah, those are some cool elevations. Can't wait to try driving this one.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Well, thanks guys, any help is appreciated. Do you have MSN or something so I could send you the files?by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Some big progress the last couple of days: - added fences, 3d tyrewalls and marshalls to the entire track - added lots of trees and some adverts to the final part of the track - added tarmac verges around all the kerbs that were on top of gravel, and fixed a problem with some kerbs that made the car unstable when riding them - completely remade .col file from scratch - started messinby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Is there a way to move all the objects in a scene at once?by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Thanks, and yeah, it's my first track. More proof at my noobness at driving: . The textures and buildings taken from the DTM tracks have improved the looks a lot, the kerb texture alone is enough to make a huge difference. Anyone knows a good method in Photoshop/Gimp for creating verge textures, I mean, for example those textures where tarmac and grass blend together?by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong here, but the Melbourne wad seems very unstable. Just trying some new fantasy layout, and half the time I do changes to the .gp4 or .bin's it crashes. Aaaaargh honestly. Any idea why a pitlane.bin would crash? I got the wad working without it now, nevermind the s1ct01.dat physics file which loads absolutely fine - which makes me think thby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Sorry, the progress on this has been completely stopped the past 3 weeks due to having to focus on my graduation project. Except today I added like, 5 trees to the scenery, lol.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Terrain is a real pain in the ass to make. Fence builder in GP4 Builder is a great way for creating the terrain objects in the first place, but since in GP4 Builder there aren't any ways for moving/joining several vertices at once, you'll get sick of doing it manually very quickly and will have to learn how to use a 3d editing program like Max.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Maybe it's because of the kerbs going through walls? It looks really odd at sectors 509-511. That is the weirdest Monaco modification I've ever seen. The braking for the turn that goes over St. Devote must be insane, lol. Miss the braking point and your car is jumping above the wall!by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4

The standard of screenies here is getting scarily good.. brilliant pics by Mini Maestro and Codexito.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
I've been adding stuff here and there: a bunch of objects from original gp4 tracks.. lots of trees.. walls built with the "add fences from dat" feature.. hi-res textures and adverts.. real scenario background from the island (although this is a bit half-assed at the moment).. photorealistic sky (by TTM).. the land mapping has been fixed quite a long time ago too.. Moving the finish line is easy.. but that will mean you'll have to make a cc-line all over again.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
It's not too long. According to this site --> <-- , Bathurst is 6.2km, the GP4 track limit is roughly about 7.0-7.5km if I remember right.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4

Neat. Still looks a bit rough but you've got a good base there. By the way, whatever happened to this --> ? Are you still working on it? It looked quite nice.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
i wouldn't hire you as a driver, lausitz fastest lap almost at 3 minutes in the first sector only!!!, and after 30 seconds of a new lap you haven't gone further than the main straight :P now, seriously, that's a weird bug, looks like it's some sort of face that shouldn't exist.by paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
Gezere, I understand you might be annoyed with this guy if he's really as much of a wanker as you're saying (I have no interest in knowing whether that's true or not). I also reckon it's your call whether to give permission or not of the usage of your work. Yet, what can you possibly win with this? It ultimately only hurts the community, in exchange for an irrelevant personalby paranoik0 - Grand Prix 4
I'm having lots of fun with Capelli's beautiful blue March, and that scarily powerful/dominant McLaren. The mod is definitely really nice, the little detail I liked the most is the menu art changing depending on the driver you pick. Thanks a lot to the people who put this together.
