I've put together a very-rough-around-the-edges personal 2012 mod based on the rFactor one previously mentioned. It has some weird bugs (that I know of, just break a wing and see what I mean!) based around some poor first attempts to convert models but I've learnt a lot which will help with my next big conversion news, which IMO is bigger than this. PM me for the link if you are interesby Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
That would work, but to answer the TSM question (I'm writing this from memory, without the program in front of me so apologies if I make a mistake in the process): 1. Firstly unzip/unrar/un7zip the files to your desktop or a folder on the desktop (makes it easier to find later). 2. Open TSM 3. Click on Create Track on the side menu 4. Fill in the data at the top, i.e. track name, year,by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
That looks like either the wrong helmet shape, or the more likely situation is the .tex file is not flipped vertically. I'd try flipping it first and see if that sorts it out.by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
I'm beginning to wonder if it's not easier for you to just change the helmet slots and performance files?by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
Thanks gitanes for that detailed help, much appreciated! From my limited knowledge of CSM that's pretty much how I understood it worked, but not in that much detail, saved me quite a bit of time. :Dby Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
Thanks Turbo Lover I'll check that out. I actually found a old thread that spoke about how to change the performances to be track specific and I thought that the same could be applied to the physics because like you say it just controls whats in the gpxpatch folder.by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
Well thats fine because I'd want to change car textures between races too, so restarting would be fine, I'm just trying to find out if you can have a physics file for track 1 and then another for track 2, etc, like you can set CSM to track specific car shapes and textures.by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
Like the title says, is it possible to have track specific physics in a CSM mod? All cars can use the same physics on each track but it changes from track to track.by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
That GP4forever link is deleted. It looks to me like your car order is wrong because your helmets seem to match up with your performance file. The correct slot order compared to the original version is: Ferrari - Slot 1 McLaren - slot 2 Williams - Slot 3 Benetton - Slot 4 BAR - Slot 5 Jordan - Slot 6 Arrows - Slot 7 Sauber - Slot 8 Jaguar - Slot 9 Minardi - Slot 10 Prost - Slot 1by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
Ok it's hard to tell whats going wrong here, but I've uploaded a very basic workbook showing what I mean and what I think you want to do. It's basic but you can follow the formula, and if you open it in OpenOffice it should show you how the formulas differ slightly between the two programs and get a better understanding of your issue.by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
The rank + countif thing I'd have to see when I get home and look at the formula on OpenOffice. Did you replace the ","s with ";" ? In other words does it read: "=RANK(B3;$B$3:$B$32;0)+COUNTIF(B3:$B$32;B3)-1" With the Vlookup, the easiest thing would be to start the formula, fill in the reference cell, then when doing the range click on the tab of the nextby Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
The rank needs the countif function to eliminate ties in position. It's not a problem with the rank itself but when you come to using the match function or index function it doesn't know what to do with the 2 or more equal ranked people so it gives strange results like only one person's name and ?VALUE for the other positions. The countif function eliminates that issue. Having aby Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
Ok I'll have a look at one of those and get back to you later on.by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
I don't follow exactly what you mean. Do you have a screenshot you can post of that sort of thing? Also depends how you're entering your data into the spreadsheet, are you putting in results and let it calculate the points or putting in the points and just letting it do a total?by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
Firstly, humble apologies for not getting back on this. At the time I was very busy but saw the thread last night so I quickly wrote out a guide, see below: The image below is showing a spreadsheet I did last week that automatically sorts the championship points. In the A column I've equalled the names of the drivers in the list. This example is for the 1998 CART season. In colby Bruce D - Grand Prix 4

OG-LOC Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > pleaaase bruce D its very important Well I'm converting it for my private use at the moment but there is a way to go, but the car models are in the game, both road and oval shapes. No helmets though but otherwise should be ok. Still some issues I need to resolve, like no mirrors!by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
Yeah, basically he has said no in a round-about way, saying I can use another modding teams work and the Simraceway model. I would have to have painted helmets for it anyway, which isn't my strong point. Oh well...by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
I started converting a great version from rFactor into GP4 and hunted down the mod creator, only to find out he had converted it from Simraceway and they weren't too happy with him for it! I'm trying to find out if he did the final textures, but I'm not sure if the new rules of this forum would allow me to publicly hand it out.by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
As far as I know it's only controlled through Tweaker. I'm guessing that you're running non-CSM mods then?by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
True, the Yamaha did actually score at least one podium at Barcelona 94, and the Hart was also a podium-winning car, hell even got on pole in 85 and 94. Also interesting to see people mention the Ford HB. It looked bad by 1994 when the Zetec was launched, but in actually fact it was the works engine in 1992-93, winning more than a few races so it wasn't too bad after all. Yes the original Yaby Bruce D - F1
What about that W12 engine that Life ran in 1990? Didn't do much. Otherwise the original Hart turbo engines were dodgy.by Bruce D - F1
I did a bit of searching and found this example of how to make the seed: "Random seed. On the left part there's a combobox with three choices: Ignore, Record, and Use. On the right is the edit box where you can copy or enter the random seed value. This value consists of six comma separated numbers between 0 and 65535 (the game has two seeds of three numbers each). Well I'm not going to be getting much chance until later in the week. This is the link that taught me how to do it in Excel, these functions should work in Open Office.by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
I'd only use them in championships standings, otherwise you're spending hours making it for something that would take seconds to sort with the sort function. I'll only be able to help with step-by-step functions next week, otherwise google for those functions and see what I mean, that's how I learnt. In particular google for autosorting in excel and the same should work inby Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
Sorry, was hectic day for me yesterday so never got to look at the thread. Ok well if I'm understanding you correctly you want a seperate page for the qualifying and race results and championship positions. In terms of qualifying and race results, it really is just a case of sorting those manually yourself and you probably have it set up properly already. Before getting carried away hby Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
OK well in general most excel commands should work in open office so I might be able to help. So I take it you want the first sheet to display the overall standings, automatically sorted in order, while on the second sheet you want to fill in the results from the season. What "info" are you putting on there and how does it relate to your first sheet?by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
Huge blow to this site. Will keep tabs on your work elsewhere.by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
What people need to do is keep releasing all the individual cars they have onto the site so that people can build their own sets up, seems like the quickest way to get this going.by Bruce D - Grand Prix 4
I've been using your program for years now, was wondering if you'd do another one. Still love it and find it very useful.by Bruce D - Grand Prix 3
