I've released GPxPatch 4.02, which fixes the above mentioned bugs.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
Looks like I have to convert to unicode first, and then make it lowercase. I'll see if I can fix this for 4.02.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
I can reproduce it now. It only happens with GP4 1.00. So a workaround is to use 1.02. But I'll try to fix it anyway. Edit: it's fixed now, I'll release 4.02 soon.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
I think that's GP4Tweaker, and the warning is probably a false positive.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
Thanks quickslick. But if I can't solve this I don't feel amazing I don't have that file in my gp4 main folder. What is it? I only know that patch 9.6 for GP4 1.02 is called "GP4_patch v9.6.exe".by SDI - Grand Prix 4
It must be something I changed in 4.00 I'm working hard to find out what it is.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
Ok, I've found out why 4.01 doesn't work with GP3. When adding support for CSM I made a mistake regarding GP3. If it's GP3 it still assumes it's GP4 and goes ahead with something that always crashes with GP3. As a workaround, you can use 4.00 with GP3, until I release 4.02. As for GP4 not working, it's still not clear why. It's unrelated to the GP3 problem. Did yoby SDI - Grand Prix 4
Ok, thanks for the tests. I've done some more investigations and my conclusion is that GP4 (and GP3) is already closing down right after the start for some reason. The fact that it crashes in GPxSound is because GPxSound isn't expecting to be unloaded this quickly (I've fixed this now). Anyway, what happens if you run GP3/GP4 once without GPxPatch, and then again with GPxPatch?by SDI - Grand Prix 4
If you have multiple processor cores or hyperthreading, could you select GP4 to be run on CPU 0? (can be set on the main GPxPatch tab).by SDI - Grand Prix 4
Honestly, a week ago GPxSound crashed for me in the same way it did for you, for no apparent reason. I changed some unrelated things and then it suddenly disappeared again and I didn't pay further attention to it. It could be a very hard to find bug with a nasty side effect, and the fact that I can't reproduce it anymore makes it even harder. Does GPxPatch 4.00 work with GP3?by SDI - Grand Prix 4
quickslick Schreef: ------------------------------------------------------- > here's the gpxload > > and there is no option to change the compatibility > mode for win xp sp3 in the gp4 exe Ok, then you already use Windows XP I guess. Is there a particular reason you're using GP4 1.00 instead of 1.02? I tried to be compatible with 1.00, but I didn't reallyby SDI - Grand Prix 4
Maybe you need to edit the properties in the exe and make sure that "run as administrator" is checked. Also, running it in compatibility mode as "Windows XP sp3" might help.by SDI - Grand Prix 4

You can deselect "auto restore" in File -> Options. Then it won't restore automatically after GP4 ends. Then you can also make a copy with explorer if you wish. But on another computer I think you also need some registry keys to be present.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
You should update GPxPatch to 4.01 and it will work.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
Not sure if GPxPatch 4.01 will fix it. It seems to be a problem with the menu text file (MenuData\PC\GP2001\GP2001_English.gps).by SDI - Grand Prix 4
I'm glad it's working now! It took quite some hours to get it right under all circumstances. When you install the new version the old settings should still be used. Are there problems with settings being lost? I have no immediate plans for adding new tv style.by SDI - Grand Prix 4

I've tried to fix the CSM/TSM issues and put these fixes into 4.01. I hope it works now with all mods (I've only tested the 1991 mod).by SDI - Grand Prix 4
You messed something up related to graphics (like wad file).by SDI - Grand Prix 4
Try to set the compatibility of GPxPatch to something like Windows 95 (go to the properties of gpxpatch.exe and select the Compatibility tab). Maybe that helps.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
You shouldn't get a PO hit from the event sounds. Try disabling the 3D sounds only.by SDI - Grand Prix 4
You can turn off HT within GPxPatch. Select to run it on a specific CPU.by SDI - Grand Prix 4

Heh, I couldn't resist. But next time ask it on my forum (or read the docs!by SDI - Grand Prix 4
