I don't think Sato's looking foolish. Most people loved what he did at the Nurburgring (come on, it very nearly worked!). He looked erratic yesterday but at least he is trying to pass. In my opinion, the only reason he spun at the hairpin is because a backmarker, travelling very slowly, was positioned right where Sato was aiming his car, and he suddenly had to slow down more than he wouby _Alex_ - F1
looks like MS will win every race this year I can assure you he won't do that.by _Alex_ - F1
Yes, he has built the team around him. Not my opinion - fact! I've tried saying this before, but people still seem to think the team "fell" in around him accidentally (and luckily) as soon as he arrived at Ferrari. People can't seem to appreciate that it's one of his star qualities being able to get all the right people around him and keep them there. He works damn harby _Alex_ - F1
you've as much chance of finding schumacher admitting to that, as much as finding him admitting to his faux par at adelaide in 94 Well there's no chance then, because it's arguable whether that was "his" faux pas. That, however, is a different story entirely.by _Alex_ - F1
OK, now ITV have pissed me off. I'm not usually one to complain, but cutting the end of the race off for some tart's game just isn't on. And I shouldn't think Bernie will be too impressed with that, either. He grants them a contract so that they show the damn race, not half of it. I don't consider ITV 2 to count.by _Alex_ - F1
Austria would not have happend if they were equal How do you know that it isn't a clause in both drivers' contracts, saying if one driver is X amount of points ahead and this situation arises, the driver trailing in points will be required to concede his position? When has Rubens ever been leading Michael in the championship? As far as I can remember, never, so basically we'rby _Alex_ - F1
first thing to remember is that the bollard that jenson had on his lap at the final turn was'nt there on ralfs lap Well actually the first thing you should remember is that I made that comment having watched the live timing on the internet, so I didn't know about that. also consider JPM was quick till he made a few mistakes during his lap too The operative phrase being "by _Alex_ - F1
With the evidence we have seen since rubens joined the team, and the drivers before, do you honestly belive the contracts are equal? There is insufficient evidence to make that judgement.by _Alex_ - F1
I wonder if Ferrari are on some bizarre strategy. Maybe they're doing the unthinkable, and one-stopping. It's going to be very interesting, that's for sure. You're right when you say it's very open. I don't think Button will lead into turn one, so we might just have a spectacular fight on our hands in the opening few laps - and indeed, for the whole race. Can'tby _Alex_ - F1
Bit of a stunner from Ralf there! I was rather hoping Jenson would be on pole again! And it would have been nice to see Sato up there (he spun in the final chicane). At least we'll get to see him charging through the field!by _Alex_ - F1
Wow, Jenson's just gone a full second quicker than Michael in qualifying (as I write this, Trulli is going out for his lap). That's pretty incredible stuff!by _Alex_ - F1
It's hardly unusual for a driver to think he's the best out there, and while it's perhaps more unusual for him to just come out and say it, still doesn't mean he's arrogant. The way he says it, it doesn't come across like that. Just looks like confidence to me. Although I totally disagree with his comments on Schumacher!by _Alex_ - F1
It doesnt matter how much of a push over he was before, he was made into one afterwards. Alesi or Verstarppon would have had the same That's not the point (or at least, it's a different one which I also happen to disagree with). Covfan is obviously more privileged than the rest of us, and has seen Michael Schumacher's contract, reporting that Michael has first option on who is hby _Alex_ - F1
I'm subscribed to Autosport but don't have an effing clue what my subscirber number is? I'm in the same position. They sent it with the first magazine under my subscription, and now I can't find the damn thing! Is it possible to call them up and find out? I think I'll do that, actually.by _Alex_ - F1
Frank williams also backs me up alex lol Glad you find that so hilarious. I respect Sir Frank's opinion (who doesn't?), but I totally disagree with him on this one. It's quite simple: if Schumacher's team-mates want to race him, then they'll darned well have to be quick enough. And too often, they're just not.by _Alex_ - F1
YAY! OLEGS BACK :D ... and talking sense. But let's ignore that bit, huh?by _Alex_ - F1
Factors such as Fuel load didnt effect the old one. It was flat out, big balls laps. The new one, the cars are all setup for the race wit heavy fuel, and arent even close to the massivly commited laps we used to see from Senna, and more recently, JPM OK, so when have we actually seen one of the front runners on a wildly different strategy to the other front runners? The truth is, despite the rby _Alex_ - F1
I would read 1.05 seconds as "one point zero five seconds". Cheers for the scans!by _Alex_ - F1
The Pole record means nothing since qually was changed. I wondered when this one would come out. Attempt to devalue the record before he can get it! That way it won't seem so impressive! The essence is still very much the same: being faster than everybody else over one lap. It means just as much.by _Alex_ - F1
You do that all the time. You sayy others dont have proof so they are wrong, but you dont have proof, but you are right? OK, fair enough; I shouldn't have said "because it isn't true", because no, I do not know that for a fact. But I'm not the one sitting there making accusations, so I don't need anything to back up my argument. So until "Red Sam" can prby _Alex_ - F1
Rubens is not restrained in terms of being told things to do anymore, but is restrained by his equipment being a notch behind MS at all times Can you substantiate that claim? I can answer that: no, because it isn't true.by _Alex_ - F1
Suspension failure doesnt make sense Why? Carbon-fibre is one of the strongest compounds on the planet, but in the case of F1 suspension, straining it very slightly in the wrong direction reveals its ultimate fragility. It could easily have been a suspension failure.by _Alex_ - F1
Maybe he should chose a better race strategy then. *anticipates next dispute* Has anybody seen any evidence to suggest Ferrari force Rubens to go on a different strategy? Different drivers take different approaches. Coulthard is often on a very different strategy to Raikkonen. Is that a conspiracy against Coulthard?!by _Alex_ - F1
once Michael had the title under his belt Rubens was getting faster and even beat MS in some races Perhaps, but then how do you explain the latter half of the 2003 season? If the whole preferential treatment theory was of such consequence, surely Ferrari would have been supporting Michael more than ever, because frankly, the end of that season was a struggle for Michael. Yet, as marcl has poinby _Alex_ - F1
So, I join Frank in pleading with the reds to unleash Rubens What the heck do you mean when you say "unleash Rubens"? This is what I'm tired of; the constant implication that he's somehow "tied down" and not being allowed to deliver his full potential. This "unfair treatment" theory is becoming increasingly flimsy. He's got the same damn car as Mby _Alex_ - F1
im very sorry, but that also invalidates your point if thats case I said he's in no position to comment "like he does" (i.e. I do not think his comments are appropriate given the extent of his knowledge), not that he's in no position to comment full stop. I think Vader's conviction that Michael is simply faster than Rubens holds water a lot better than marcl saying Rubby _Alex_ - F1
1995 - Belgian Grand Prix. This is pretty much where I started supporting Schumacher, because he was so awesomely fast and exciting to watch on a wet/dry track, charging through the field. Then there was that battle with Hill, and a stunning victory. Mega! 1996 - Italian Grand Prix. My lasting memories from the 1996 season are from this Grand Prix, mainly because of Schumacher winning in a Ferby _Alex_ - F1
alex bernie said in public he has seen the contract I'm sorry but that is just complete rubbish. I don't care what Bernie says. There's no way he's seen their contracts. I don't believe for minute Ferrari would show him. Do they have any reason to? And he wouldn't have seen them accidentally. Ferrari don't leave these things lying around! But it doesn'by _Alex_ - F1
Even bernie has said RB contract says he is not allowed to pass MS Even Bernie! Well, you've shut me up. After all, our Benard knows everything, doesn't he? *sarcasm* The truth is, the only people on this planet who know what's written into Michael's and Rubens's contracts are themselves, Todt, and probably a couple more of the top guys at Ferrari. Therefore, youby _Alex_ - F1
