no trye warmers, make the driver use more of his skills That's a ridiculous idea. How many Zanardi-like accidents does it take for people to realise that tyre warmers are there for a good reason?by _Alex_ - F1
It does surprise me that the ban on motorsport still exists. I believe it was implemented after the Le Mans tragedy, was it not? That was an awfully long time ago, and motorsport has changed quite a lot, not least in terms of safety, which has been the main issue in this case. It's good to see something being done. Switzerland seems like a very cool place to have a Grand Prix, for some reasoby _Alex_ - F1
I don't understand why some people (such as ph) don't seem too bothered about LC, but are all up in arms about TC. After all, LC made the starts of races fairly uninteresting, as nothing was really likely to happen that was out of the ordinary. Now in 2004, as well as hearing the drivers having to snatch exactly the right amount of revs at the start, which sounds absolutely awesome andby _Alex_ - F1
What I find amazing is that hardly the other day it was "McLaren are going to be so damn fast, they'll be the team to beat"... etc, and now everyone seems to think the car won't be quick enough. What has changed? Testing times? Has nobody learnt that testing seldom implies genuine pace? Or is it Kimi expressing his "worries" about the car? I shouldn't think heby _Alex_ - F1
Mika didn't blow the final round - Michael was simply exemplary on a damp track on slick tyres, as he always is. Mika didn't blow anything, he just couldn't match Schumacher.by _Alex_ - F1
Hes had his criticism, and maybe its time to move on. This is the point I'm making - it's a difficult point to make because in making it, it looks as though I'm condemning what Raikkonen did at Spa in 2002. Frankly, I'm not bothered about what he did, I was just pointing out that I didn't consider it too different to what Alonso did. Kimi did a fantastic qualifying lap sby _Alex_ - F1
There have been cases of suicide bombers failing to detonate their explosives and reak havoc and death. So what they were doing is OK then, marcl? The principle is the same, is it not?by _Alex_ - F1
I agree with your sig, Muks_C. What a bloody awful car in every respect!by _Alex_ - F1
Oh, and ... have you read Lynne Truss's) book on punctuation, "Eats, Shoots and Leaves"? I really liked it, but I'd be interested to hear your opinion, if you've read it. I've read it, it's brilliant. I learnt quite a bit about the apostrophe (some of which horrified me, because I was sure I had it sussed!). For example, if you're enumerating letters, you hby _Alex_ - F1
No, I am not defending him in that respect. I have said that the Brazil incident was a stupid mistake. I'm just saying that I'm not pathetic enough to keep going on and on about it, holding it against him and totally ignoring all the other brilliant stuff he did. That's your problem, Ellis. You obviously have a grudge against him, and you will take one misgiving and wring its bloodby _Alex_ - F1
Mika Hakkinen was very cool, especially with those orange-tinted sunnies!by _Alex_ - F1
Btw, does someone know why "Princes Street" has only one "s"? More to the point, how do Marks & Spencers explain the distinct lack of apostrophes in their store's name?!by _Alex_ - F1
Plus the fact you had the adverse effect whereby the slower you went through turn three, the less downforce was generated, so the more likely you were to lose control of the car. This is a factor that a lot of people forget. So are you going to start pointing the finger at Fisichella or Raikkonen for keeping their cars pointing in a straight line?by _Alex_ - F1
i dont think alonso has done a hell of a lot He's just about to start only his third F1 season, so you can't expect him to have done "a hell of a lot". he could have killed someone, ffs As could Kimi at Spa, driving into a plume of smoke flat out. But for that Kimi was "courageous" and "unstoppable". I didn't condemn him for that, but despite what aby _Alex_ - F1
but when you've taken on MS (the best in the business) and beaten him in what was usually equal machinery I would argue that Hakkinen and Schumacher only properly went head-to-head once (in 1998), when the Finn had a car quite considerably superior to Michael's! not the brightest driver in F1 history it seems On the contrary, he is obviously pretty damn intelligent, possessing the raby _Alex_ - F1
This is all i have to say ... although I'm sure you really meant to say THIS aswellby _Alex_ - F1
he needs to calm down and take his head out his arse and stop pulling stupid moves I sometimes wonder whether you have any idea about what you're writing. Alonso is one of the most modest and mature drivers on the grid - astoundingly so given his age. Just because he made an error at Interlagos - an error that was more down to inexperience than anything - it doesn't mean he has to &quoby _Alex_ - F1
Everyone seems either to be testing or sleeping with a Jordan at the moment.by _Alex_ - F1
But the best one he starred in was 'Airplane' back in 1980, one of the most funniest comedies ever made. and thats official too I'll second that opinion! It never fails to have me in hysterics, especially the John Travolta rip-off in the nightclub. Fantastic! And, of course, the legendary piece of dialogue, in which Nielson somehow sustains his brilliant straight-face: "Surelby _Alex_ - Off-Topic
Well, there was talk not so long ago of the British Grand Prix being held in France!by _Alex_ - F1
bernie is getting REALLY out of touch with the fans You actually think he's ever been in touch with them? If he had his way, there would be no grandstands and there would be no viewing areas at Grand Prix tracks. In fact, there would be no access for fans - only for TV camera crews. If he had his way, we would all watch Grand Prix racing at television. Greedy git.by _Alex_ - F1
Whoever is driving it, his helmet looks like Michael Schumacher's old helmet!by _Alex_ - F1
That all i was saying ellis and alex that there was no proof but all of a sudden over night they had tyres problems You've also got to remember that overnight Williams sorted out all their problems and all of a sudden they had the best car on the grid. Anyway, Michael wasn't exactly slow at Monaco. He didn't have a great qualifying run, which ultimately cost him, and while Montoyaby _Alex_ - F1
nick and jos - two of the most charasmatic guys in the pits :| Well, Heidfeld isn't any less charismatic than Raikkonen, and from what we saw at Sauber in 2001, he certainly isn't any slower!by _Alex_ - F1
Its horrendous(excuse bad spelling) Actually you were spot on, but the "its" could have done with an apostrophe between the "t" and the "s".by _Alex_ - F1
I agree with that, Ellis. But I find this comment interesting. Bridgestone did cheat though last year but it was never proven ... and so how do you know? You say some odd things. You always sound totally sure of what you're writing even when it's a completely irrational comment. It makes for amusing reading.by _Alex_ - F1
Sorry, doesn't look like anyone's going to make your day, punk!by _Alex_ - F1
What a load of typical Bernie bollocks. That's another superb track booted off the calendar for no good reason. I hope it is salvaged successfully like Spa has been.by _Alex_ - F1
Although I love Silverstone, it would be interesting to see a race at either Brands Hatch or Donington in this era.by _Alex_ - F1
