Yes, the issue was solved in a clumsy way. I really think that most of the teams (McLaren and Red Bull included) would have done the same in the same circumstances, but probably in a decent way. I don't think anyone believes that Massa has a chance to beat Alonso in the final standings but what I can't believe is that the team did something so stupid like sending those messages "thby Ali - F1

Anyway, there's something that puzzles me a little bit. With Vettel's problems in the engine, how could he set a 2:01s and 2:00s in his last six laps?by Ali - F1
I think we need more patience. The fact that Vettel had the problem made it boring. If not, Alonso qouls have tried some manouvres, and probably the final rounds would have looked better. It is only one race. Last year we had some awful races as well.by Ali - F1

The root of the article is fine and (sorry to tell) obvious. We all know that. But (and please, don't take me as a fan boy, I like Alonso but I also try to be as objective as possible) 80% of the article describes the Alonso episode which, I think, is not fully valid for what it is trying to expose, as the team didn't help one of the parties to balance what was going on, so Alonsoby Ali - F1
I think this is a quite partial article. I hardly think that all that occurred in 2007 was due to Alonso's paranoia. Also, the best season so far for Hamilton has been that one, the 2007. Because in 2008 he was quite erratic and in 2009 he only showed something when he had a good car. Meanwhile, Alonso had a more than remarcable season in 2008 when he put a decent car at a very high level toby Ali - F1

2006 championship was one of the best of the last decade. The level was extremely high, Alonso drove incredibly in many of those races and Schumacher got the best of his car, specially in the second half of the year, when Bridgestone clearly beat Michelin, which played obviously in benefit of Schumacher. But Alonso had two hard races were: Hungaroring were he did an exhibition on driving in the wby Ali - F1

I've read from certain journalists that it is widely believed that Red Bull has the best car and they are one step ahead from the rest. I've a little bit puzzled by that. Is Red Bull hidding something?by Ali - F1
I think that Lotus and Virgin did a good job. They have a car running (we'll see what can Campos/Hispania racing deliver) and experienced drivers. Only time is required to mature the project. They were slow, but what can you expect.by Ali - F1
Honestly, I don't know if they are so closely tight. We'll see. But there are signs in all directions. Hamilton did an astonishing long run in his last day of testing... Alonso was amazingly fast and consistent in his long runs and besides, he didn't do a qualifying run setting three 1.20s in Montmelo in a 5 lap stint... And in all those cases, I didn't see any spectaculaby Ali - F1

Most of the people is always judging Alonso for the bad things he said 3 or 4 years ago. Who cares, when he joined McLaren he was more than happy and after all, the team also disappointed him so he has good reasons to change his mind. But again, who cares now...by Ali - F1
Alonso long run has been quite impressive. His last ten laps have been around 1.22. MS didn´t set those times in his stint (and it was shorter)... I really think the Ferrari is a great car. Button has been quite irregular, I don´t have an opinios on how good the McLaren is. And for the new teams...I agree, Campos and USF1 cannot go to Bahrain withour a single Km. They are not a low budget teby Ali - F1
I think the article takes the concept "career' in the wrong way. You cannot consider a F1 career a guy who raced for 2 o 3 GPs. I would think about 2 or 3 seasons at least. Some of my (modern) choices would be Yoong, Mazzacane, Piquet (that incident in Singapore was part of his career), Diniz, and many of those "back of the grid" drivers that manage to get a car for more thby Ali - F1
Well, anyway, in 2010 I think it is quite obvious that Alonso is a superb driver. If the Ferrari is as good as any other car, he is a hard to beat competitor.by Ali - F1
marcl Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Alonso is straight away on the pace that Massa was > setting, that must worry Massa. Well, from one day to another... What is true is that the car seems fast. We can always argue about the fuel weight, but I find difficult to believe that Ferrari is always running lighter thatn the opposition. I also think that if it was Michael the one starting the tests the final results would have been different, swaped between MS and Rosberg so I agree, a lot of variables...by Ali - F1
