Great wheels. You're right about the PO. Textures are the real PO killers. I have also created Pirelli tyre textures should I sned them to you tis? I flipped the mapping of the helmet so it should work fine now.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
Tony, the hi-res textures will suit this helmet too. I only closed the bottom and removed the hans attachments. I'm working with PSP8 so i flipped the mapping but I guess I forgot to flip it back. I will adjust it and post it in this topic when it's fixed.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
Tony, I think that'll take too much poly's :P The helmet is online, go to the misc section at gp4cardesign.tk. Kev, you can use the pre hans one for the 94 mod. Tis, you can send them to me, you can find my email at my site. Andrew, it's ok if Greg has already done your helmets. As long as they fit my hi-res helmet there's no problem.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
That's what we're waiting for Laurent! When we're able to import objects we'll make you a statue at Magny Coursby _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
Kevin, I will put the helmet online later today in a new section of my site. And yes, this helmet has a bottom. To avoid 'clashes' we need a list or something to see what everyone is doing or already has done.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
I have a pre-hans helmetshape. It's based on the hi-res helmet I made last year. If you're all ok with it I will create the helmet textures. I already have Lehto's and Pirro's:by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
It's like a piece of paper. it looks completely flat but in fact it is a three dimensional object. So when you place one face on top of another you can see the sides of that face.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
This is the result of adding geometry to the tracks. Seems to me you can add whatever you like. How far are you on the visibility issue? I know that added objects can disappear ingame. Great to see how the 3deditor has evolved over the last few months!by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
I used ZModeler to find my current coordinates: FRONT left: X: 0.9070 Y: -0.2292 Z: 1.0590 right: X: -0.9070 Y: -0.2292 Z: 1.0590 REAR left: X: 0.8641 Y: -0.2292 Z: -2.0022 right: X: -0.8641 Y: -0.2292 Z: -2.0022 The Y value is the height of the center of the wheel. The X and Z can be found using the top view.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
Like I said: Lehto :P I'm missing the ads on Pirro's helmet where I painted two black stripes and two more on the sidepod. I have no idea what they are, they are too blurred on the photo's.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
Changed all kinds of stuff: wings, suspension, overall height, sidepods, new helmet incl textures, new pirelli textures (on tony's 88 tyres). This is the final shape. Textures wil be updated if I find the sponsors I couldn't figure out from the photo's.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for the great feedback! This is the sort of thing I need to improve my car. I lost interest in F1 in the mid 80's and got back two years ago (hail GP3) so I missed F1 in the 90's. It was a real challenge for me to create a car which I never knew existed :D I used a handdrawn sideview of the car together with some photo's I found online to get the right dimensions. Here'by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
I used the tyres from Tony's 88 mod. I believe their diameter is too small. I guess bigger tyres are needed. I lowered the rear wing (top is just below the airbox now) and moved it forward again but the rest is fine. Quotethe highest point of the cockpit needs to be the same height as the top of the front tyres You keep saying that but the picture you show contradicts your statement. The hiby _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
Just updated the sidepods, cockpit and visor. Moved the rearwing a bit forward and the frontwing a bit upward. Added bodylines, shadows and alpha's to the textures and made Pirelli tyres. Just two helmets to paint and Scuderia Italia is ready for the '91 season.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
To me it's simple. I release my cars at two or three sites and a week later it is all over the net. It saves me a lot of time and trouble not having to notify all the gp4 sites about a release. I'm not really interested in the number of downloads, but I can imagine that you are. To me it's just a hobby which I am happy to share with a lot of people out there. I don't care howby _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
Tried that too, didn't succeed. I just used gp4tweaker and changed the values and hit the start gp4 button but no changes in wheel position... What file stores those data? Is it the collision_mesh file?by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
I don't use gp4tweaker but I have dld it just now and gonna try it out.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
Now that everyone knows Laurent is single it's just a matter of time before they doby _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
I changed the wheel positions with Teameditor but when I start the game it still uses the default coordinates. The steering wheel and helmet are also done with teameditor but they show up perfectly. Is this a bug or is there another way to set the wheelbase?by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
The most important thing for us is to have a mod of finished cars. It would really be nice to have a site with more info. There's still a lot of work to do to have a full 91 mod in the end. Andrew, Great to hear your Williams is still progressing. it looked nice already! btw fantastic shots of the EJ14, they're very useful for my other projectby _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
Thanks Jaap. I will adjust the sidepods like you said. I will put in a little curve towards the front. I will not release this car as a stand alone. It will be released as part of the 91 package.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
With the wheel positions like this the car looks too short and not wide enough indeed. That's why the rear wing also looks too far backward. Here's the real one: I will post new shots when I have put some slicks at the right position.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
As some of you already know, I've taken a step back into the past and created a car from the '91 season the Dallara BMS F191. It will be part of the upcoming 91 mod. Here are some of the screenshots I made today. I have to adjust the tyre positions, tyres themselves and the helmet.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
Bojan's wife wants him to paint the house first I think and after that maybe she'll let him paint the 006.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
Fongu is reffering to the name you gave this thread I love this car but you already know that. I like the deep red and the flames look great. So typical in RR-style.by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
Alesi_fan, Just use your imagination. Split up the car the way you like it. Remember that losing a nose_cone in GP4 has some effect on the physics, so please be sensible about it. Tis, There are two wheels, both front and rear wheel are present so you can mess around with both of them. I've been working on the Dallara BMS and I have finished the shape. I will do some paintwork tonight andby _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
It's allright by me. You need to see the helmet in ZM to view your textures, right? I guess you imported the helmet and exported it back to .gp4. Just download it again and import it into ZM. Save it as a .z3d, do not export it! When you want to change the shape of the helmet for private use it's ok to do so. I won't let you release it though...by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
Lovely car, great job Spikey! And no, he's not doing the EJ14by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
I know my name is behind the Benetton and Ferrari but if some else wants to do one or both of them: be my guest. I have very little time to work on these beauties (almost all of my spare time is spent on the current season) tis, you should go ahead with those brake discs. I don't care much for 3d spokes, you can easily simulate it with alpha's and it saves us a lot of polys. About thoby _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
I've seen it in action a few weeks ago. It is truly amazing what Max has done. He modified everything but the tracks. Can't wait to play around with it!by _Erix_ - Grand Prix 4
