Renault#1Fan, nice job.
Please take this as constructive criticism... please please please add earphones to your plus stand crew members.
Presently, their earphones are all flesh coloured, like follows:
They should have nice colourful earphones like in this example:
The location for the earphones is shown here.
I'm not being critical, just making an obs

Grand Prix 4 Thanks for the replies. It seems this is sort of thing's not been done before then.
Bernard - I'm always lurking around here. As soon as I read loren's reply I thought about adding humps to the dash part. Of course, the dash is a separate part! I've been in and out that GP4 file often enough - I should have thought about it and feel embarrassed now!! I'll give it tr

Grand Prix 4 I have added some 'humps' to my cockpit to give it a more 2010 feel, as you can see in this screenie. Sorry about the long skinny image, but I play GP4 over 3 screens so this is what it looks like to me:
The thing is that not all teams have these 'humps' on the nosecone and it would be nice to have it so that these humps don't appear for some teams but do for other

Grand Prix 4 Thanks chaps. I'm planning on putting a division in the middle of the last two garages and painting the last two garages as four half garages to achieve 13 team garages. With only one car for the last four teams this will sort of achieve 13 teams in the pitlane at least. Dual pitstands for each of the first 9 teams and one each for the last two garages will give a similar look. Of course th

Grand Prix 4 I think this might be possible... I have a new comp and haven't installed or loaded GP4/ my old files etc (yet), so can't say for sure what file you need to edit. But from memory I tracked down the GP4 font file via GPI Browser. I then modified the font in photoshop because I play GP4 in triple-screen via a matrox TH2Go and the aspect ratio of the menu font is all screwed up. I had to

Grand Prix 4 So, Brawn and Jenson Button won the championship this year. Normally the following year, the team that won the constructors gets garage no 1, and the driver who won gets car no 1. But with Brawn being sold and JB going to Mclaren where does that leave us? Will JB have no 1 on his Mclaren? Will Mercedes take garage 1 or will they be relagated to the other end of the pit lane with the other "

Grand Prix 4 Also bear in mind that the G27 does not have a sequential shifter. The G25 does.

Grand Prix 4 Hey mal, the G25 pedals come apart individually and can be remounted easily. Like this guy's done. He's mounted the brake forwards of the throttle for better heal-toe throttle blipping when downshifting in GT style cars.
Don't you find that with the steering wheel on that angle that it feels like you're driving a truck?
Any way, I know you aussies love your V8's

Grand Prix 4 I think a safety car could be cool. It does emulate the real thing after all and if low tyre temps, cold brakes and tyre 'marble' effects were in the game then getting the re-start right might be a fun challenge.

Grand Prix 4 Bfergy, I think Lo2k means do NOT tick the combined axis box. I do not have mine ticked and have no problems. I am surprised you have this option enabled and have no problems in other games! Try un-ticking the combined axis box.

Grand Prix 4 Thinking laterally, I had a Logitech Momo Racing. The pedals were buggered, but I didn't know at the time. I couldn't really tell. Once I replaced them, my lap times improved enormously.

Grand Prix 4 Despite Ferrari's cars being number 3 and 4, isn't Ferrari team 1 this year with Mclaren as team 2?
Ferrari therefore will have the first garage. Ferrari did win the constructors championship after all.
Similar to before, but to more of an extreme when the Mclaren team came plumb last due to having their constructor's points stripped. Ferrari was in garage 1 whilst Mclaren we

Grand Prix 4 I've always only ever installed cars etc manually (eye candy) but have always maintained the original GP4 physics etc as I still to this day believe it's the best around. This way I have cool looking cars, pitlanes, even tracks (in some instances) I have cool menus and music etc but ultimately have the bog standard GP4 "gameplay" but looking a million time better and as per th

Grand Prix 4 @msater: Yes, all the buttons work in GP4 via Joy2Key software. The RPM LED's, the Gear Indicator and the 20x4 LCD don't work as I need a plugin for that to work and there's no such thing for GP4.
Unless someonw wants to write one? Lo2k??? Perhaps an adaption of your G15 plugin?????
The brake balance rotary you see at the bottom of the wheel works great with in-car setups ena

Grand Prix 4 If you want a really good wheel, for non FFB the ECCI is probably the best around and companies like Frex make a lovely FFB wheel. You can always build one like I have done here:
This is a Logitech momo racing wheel which I've heavily modified with 20x4 LCD screen, rpm LED's, gear indicator and switches galore. Of course only the switches work in GP4 but the rest runs lovely in

Grand Prix 4 Quickslick, I have a full set of wheel gun cables and fuel tanks ready to go for all tracks if you're interested, and also a set of garages that are plus compatible. No 2001 tex files for the garages though.

Grand Prix 4 AFAIK there's no 2001 garage textures.
The pitlane updates that me GeZeRe did are for all 17 original tracks, and have my pitstands pre installed, along with wheel guns and cables and fuel tanks (in quali and race only). The garages are all 'plus' compatible
I have 2001 pitstand textures, amongst others, but unless someone has 2001 'plus' compatible garage textures

Grand Prix 4 I'd be happy for you to release those 2001 stands Jim. It would be nice for someone to use them otherwise they're just a waste. GeZeRe and I did a pitlane update on all 17 original tracks, complete with wheel guns fuel rigs etc. They just replace the original wads. These 2001 pitstand textures are fully compatible with the pitstands in those tracks. But they'll need garage texture

Grand Prix 4 You can't leave the pits or the garage?
If in a race pitstop you can't leave the pits, try ticking the "fix pitstop bug" box in GPxPatch.
If it's the garage you can't leave, try using the throttle and brake pedals to navigate up and down the menu on the steering wheel, and use your gear-up selector to click on the option.

Grand Prix 4 @quickslick. No, it's not possible to use other textures for these stands.
The only textures made for these pitstands are 1998 (by greg alexander), 2001, 2005, 2006 and 2007 (by me).

Grand Prix 4 Yes, always import pitstands into a new scene. Delete old pitstands from whatever scene they were in.
In imola, you can also just change the old pitstands (and their lod's) to HIDDEN class. This is easier than displacing them all.
There are stands for all standard tracks, so there should be no need to move/rotate any of them. Just be sure to insert the correct stands for your track in

Grand Prix 4 I had this problem once before. From memory it was the texture transparency or possibly the material assigned to those objects. You could have a look at the material, see if it differs from other side walls. If the solution comes to me I'll sure let you know.

Grand Prix 4 Gildoorf,
I have written a simple autolisp program to run in AutoCAD. It will calculate all track sector Z and Z2 values by simply selecting them all. It then writes the results to a txt file ready for import into GP4 builder.
Check your PM's for details.
