I'll daringly bring this thread to the top just to share with you a rather amusing story... Back when I was a poor and lonely student a mate and I used to race on his Amiga 500 a game called something like "Ayrton Senna's F1" Very basic it was too, but the makers of the game certainly had a sense of humour. If you drove into the flag man at the end of the race he would fly ofby St.Hubbins - Off-Topic
Blimey, do you get out much???? Seriously, thanks for that! I have always welcomed the changes to the scoring system, and while I understand the counter argumets, if it helps the season go on a little longer than has recently been the case then all well and good. By Suzuka we will still find the best driver at the top of the list, just that the last few races will have something riding on them fby St.Hubbins - F1
That wouldn't surprise me at all, but it would be a shame imo to see Fisi join yet another average team. Rubens has a contract with Ferrari until the end of 2005 though, so a trade swap would be the only option if this were to happen. Massa certainly seems to be first in line for a Ferrari seat from what I have heard.by St.Hubbins - F1
Evening all! Firstly thanks to Alex for your kind words. Now, let me explain my thoughts on Jarno Trulli... When he first appeared in F1 he looked good, no doubts, and his performance at the A1-Ring in 1997 was nothing short of remarkable. From there on in there was only really one way he could go and that was down. I really honestly used to like him, that is until I took the time to examine hby St.Hubbins - F1
Okay guys, here's my list. And before anyone blames me for being biased I'll admit I am. I really do dislike Trulli and Ralf, and love Webber and Fisichella, so if you think these drivers are way out of position then that'll be the reason. Anyway... 1. Michael Schumacher - His record speaks for itself. % World Championships is matched only by the great Fangio, and performances likby St.Hubbins - F1
I don't think that lauch control is worth mentioning here. Wilson has made up places in the early laps of races but not because of his starts. He seems to be able to pick his way around others in tight situations. His actual ability to get off the line is not particularly better than anyone else. And sure, he's made up places but that is of course easier to do when there are 21 cars aheby St.Hubbins - F1
No offence but that list is a bit of a joke in my opinion. Coulthard, Ralf, Verstappen and Trulli all above Webber. Oh please!!! And are Firman and Wilson really so bad that they've dropped off the bottom of the list? And then this... 14. Jensen Button----does a good job showing up villeneuve every weekend So whay on Earth is Villeneuve five places above Button?by St.Hubbins - F1
Oh dear, Andrew likes this track, I was the only one within a second of him at Silverstone and I hate low downforce circuits. Good luck to everyone else though, and I'll be happy with a top 5 at Hockenheim.by St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Hooray!!! An epic saga and a happy ending. Oh, how I love this world - the GP3 world that is!by St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Doh! Or the extra 1/10th that I've just realised you have foundby St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
I like to complicate things Looks like you got this one won Andrew. I can't seem to gain that extra 23/1000th of a secondby St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Use HOFxLap, found in the utilities section of the dowloads page on this site. If you have a clean install of GP3 then weight shouldn't be a problem anyway. Don't forget you can increase the BHP up to 800 in GP3Edit. Good luck.by St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Sauberfan, I don't know whether some drivers may consider that as cheating. I will send you the lap as long as nobody has any objections, but I would guess that the reason they are not available for download from the hotlap site is because everybody should develop their own setups and driving styles. As I said, no problems for me to share but I'll wait for Marco's opinion beforeby St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Crispian, lets go one step at a time... First are you playing GP3 or GP3 2000? Second, if it is GP3 2000 (which I am led to believe) then where exactly are you being asked for the 1.13 patch? My guess would be in an external editor program, yes? If so what program is this? If you are using GP3 Edit then be aware that this is not compatible with GP3 2000. You will need a similar (although unfby St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Jor, it's just an ancestory thing that I don't really bother too much about. To be honest I'm more interested in stone circles and druids, and finding the way to the blinking stageby St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Bless him, and his unabounded wit. I notice Marco has decided not to make the hotlaps available for download until after the expiry date of the competition. Looks like my setup is safe for the meantime then How are you getting on Mika? Have you tinkered with the ride height yet?by St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
It seems to me you are getting a bit mixed up between GP3, GP3 v1.13 and GP3 2000. If the GP3 2000 no-cd exe works then you must be playing GP3 2000. Therefore the 1.13 patch will not worked as this is made to patch the original GP3. GP3 2000 is essentially a totally different game. If you want to download updates then look for the link stating "made for all versions" or "made foby St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Mika, just had a look at your setup. Ride height is way too high in my opinion. I tried to drive a few laps with your setup and found myself sliding all over the place. Seems to lack under car downforce I think as their isn't too much wrong with the wing settings. Just a little tip - I try and get a setup where the plank will wear out after only one fast lap, so my outlap is taken very easiby St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Afraid I am Mika. Just sent my lap in now so you can cheat and have a look at my setup (not that you would of course). I said earlier that I have a really good setup for Silverstone, and I have also spent a lot of time lapping too. Keep practicing Mika!!!!!by St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Hey Mr Morse, that's a bit quick. Wheel by any chance? I've now got a 1:21.xxx saved Is anyone else racing? Post Edited (07-07-03 13:48)by St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Bugger, just did a 1m 21.675 and didn't save it. Doh Can't get near that time now.by St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Hmmm, reminds me of the ultimate computer failure On startup... Keyboard not detected, press escape to continue.by St.Hubbins - Off-Topic
I'm in the mid 1m22s region at the moment with plenty more to come. A few months back I was in a challenge with a few friends - we only ever drove Silverstone and I think I really nailed the setup. Dare I say I won't be nearly as competitive at Hockenheim.by St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Thanks Ellis, as I thought. Going back to a few questions raised on the other thread.... Regarding the scoring, presuming there are a good number of people interested, as it seems there are, then why not follow the current F1 scoring system - 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. I'd imagine that two leagues would be needed - one for digital and one for analogue, and they could also be incorporated togby St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Hey, thanks to Marcow and Mika for setting this up. One question: I have just compared the init, car and damage checksum in the rules against the values I got from HOFx and notice the 'h' is missing. Is this because I play in software mode, and will this cause problems with the jury? Cheers, Hubb.by St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
I think you are right Kiwi. What would logically be the best bet is to use a clean install of GP3, add the 1.13 patch and run through GPxPatch. Then there would need to be an agreement on which versions of tracks are used and magic data files, and also an agreement on bhp. I would have thought that using the default physics would be the easiest thing to do.by St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
I'm up for this, especially if we use tracks other than the default ones.by St.Hubbins - Grand Prix 3
Ringo perhaps wasn't the greatest drummer ever. In fact, when asked whether he was the best drummer in the world, Lennon replied "Ringo isn't even the best drummer in the band". Legendary.by St.Hubbins - Off-Topic
