1. sorry it is not possible to have gpxsat working in SW mode, it was never coded for software mode, only HW mode, I probably never will be available for sw mode 2. You have to install the track maps separatley with a program like GP3master. Nikby Nik - Grand Prix 3
You could try Erwins site, the home of Martjin Hans, Marco Alderuccio and Erwin himself Nikby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Right, what you need to do is this GpXpatch doesn't actually install the tracks for you, it just allows you to use them once you have installed them. Its a very manual proceedure though 1. Unzip all the bits and bobs, in there there should be .txt file usually called gp3form.txt and this will tell you what to do. 2. Say the readme file asks you to make a new directory in your GP3jamsh folby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Hi Steve Well for a start, Wouldn't use GPxpatch version 3x although it does work with GP3 I think quite abit of it is designed for GP4, I would stick to versions 1-2x Paul Hoads Car editor, well I had the same trouble with version 3.7 of this editor and I went back a few versions to version 3.4 (I think) and this works fine under XP Home for me. If you can't find an older copy of thby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Hi Fabio As far as I am aware there are no GP3 online racing servers, in fact I would go as far as to say that I am sure there are none. At the moment, GP3 online works PC to PC over the internet only but..... you must have a very fast internet connection for it to work properly, also both versions of GP3 (Your version and the version on the person you are racings computor) must be identical, cby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Ok, Da Matta's helmet will be in Paul Edmonds Cart carset 2001 and 2002 I have a good version of Justins helmet, can't remember where I got it, but I can send it to you if you likeby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Yeah, Mortal is mostly right, q1 and 3 he is right about about q2 there is a way in the car editor (by Paul Hoad), but I'm not sure how to do it all I know is that the car editor can display a 3d image of the car but the graphics that it uses must be in sw mode... but don't ask me how to do this, I never needed to use this but I'm sure some-one out there will know how to do thisby Nik - Grand Prix 3
You must also make sure that a) the bitmap image is the correct dimensions for gp3, e.g is the same size as the trackmaps that are in the game as standard, you can test this by extracting one of the gp3 trackmaps and checking that your trackmap has the correct width and height as the one you just extracted. b) if you are saving a jpeg as a bitmap then you will need to save the bitmap in the correby Nik - Grand Prix 3
It might be a stupid thing to say but have you upgraded to version 1.13 of gp3?, this can in some ways make it better for gp3 to recognize your card. It might help you but then again it might notby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Sounds like you are doing exactly the same as me, I'm trying to get a 60's set going, I also have a 60's Monza, with all scenery done but that adverts are not in place yet, I put that on hold when I started Monaco about three weeks ago, Then I stumbled across photo's of the Solitude-ring and did a layout for that. I have done most of the ads for Monaco (based around 1964) andby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Hi Stephen I'm definatly not trying to put you off here, but I also am working on that track along with 1960's Monza and Solitude. My version has nearly completed scenery and cc line, no 60's scenery in place yet but that is being developed now. Don't let this stop you, there is always the danger that I won't finish it. Good Luck with your version Nikby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Ah, James Burgess made some, which was uploaded to Classic GP before it closed... you can find James on the Trackedit forum at the moment as he posts there sometimes, he may be so kind as to email it to youby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Sounds like you don't need me here anymore, Larry seems to have it well in control... so I'll step out of this thread Hope you get it to work, I might have a go at it myself if I get the time, but that is short now Good luckby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Larry That is indeed the most favoured solution, I havn't looked to the track at all, but the 256+ jam height to me sounds like the real problem, I was not aware of jams that big being in the track but thinking about Knud's sebring track he used quite alot of jams that big in it. It's a simple enough job to do if you know the TE, but if you don't it can be bewildering. I hoby Nik - Grand Prix 3
David, The use HW jams that you refer to is not the problem, it can be a problem but not in this case. PAT, Does your track always crash at a specific point on the circuit? if so my theory is that one of your textures has been mis-flagged or has the wrong ID number. you must go through your jams very carefully checking which texture(s) is not correct. If this is such a big problem I may comby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Cmagic (for GP3 1.13) by Marc Aarts can extract the magic data from a track Open up the program and open up the trackfile in the trackfile window then choose 'edit' and then 'get magic data from trackfile' then save the file, then do your converting and put it back in using Cmagic (for GP3-2000) by Marc Nikby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Just been to emacf1.com and the GP3edit version is here! it was posted today (the 19th) but it is the version which is designed for the GP3 1.13 generic carshape, it may not work too well with a custom carshape enjoyby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Martin Donnelly's Lotus broke in two in Jerez 1990, there is that famous photo of Martin lying on the track and a separate photo of his lotus minus the cockpit and front end... so yes they do (or did)by Nik - Grand Prix 4
Right, this is probably the wrong place to ask, you might get more joy at the track editing forum, James Knopp (who did the jam editor 2000) can be found there and maybe he can answer a few of your questions the URL is Nikby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Yep, you hit the nail on the head there, the original gp3 tracks did have the track banking command, to simulate camber in corners but It was never expected to be used at such an ammount. Have you tried this track in Gp3-2000? Geoff Crammond must have had to make some changes to the code to allow Indianapolis to run smoothly. and I have noticed that oval tracks run better in GP3-2000 Nikby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Dammit Vader, posting whilst I was writing ))) nevermind looks like we had the same solution anywayby Nik - Grand Prix 3
It will help alot if you update GP3 to version 1.13, I think the original version 1 had problems with wheel calibration You can download it from either this site (www.grandprix3.com/en) or direct from the makers from this link I think that may solve your problems if not post again Nikby Nik - Grand Prix 3
This guy may be able to help you out, go to his home page here he does custom liveries, abit like the custom helmet painters do.by Nik - Grand Prix 3
Doesn't matter wether your in SW or HW mode it works in both, I can't select Virtual cockpit either but I can select the cockpit view angle button which activates the slider beside it... but as LS says you can just press '-' or '+' whilst you are in the car Nikby Nik - Grand Prix 3
You can make your own, the files you need are in 'gpxdata/gfx'. inside your GP3 folder. The files are in Targa (.tga) format and can be edited in any graphics program which supports Targa files... Adobe Photoshop and Paintshop Pro are two that I know that can handle this file type. If you can't find them do a search for 'seimens.tga' or 'b.tga' (without the qby Nik - Grand Prix 3
The GP3-2000 equivilent of GP3edit is CarsetCreator by John Walton, it does everything that GP3edit does but unfortunatly if you run in Sw mode it's dodgy as the hw-sw conversion doesn't work... apart from that it's greatby Nik - Grand Prix 3
Try this Dave, Open the CART shape you want to use, export it as a CTF. close the shape and import the generic one from GP3-2000, import the CTF and either export back into the game or save the carshape for use in GPxPatch That should work, Nikby Nik - Grand Prix 3
