Golf?

Does anyone here play golf on the pc? I'm looking around for a golf game where I can host a game, and my mate down the road can join and we can do a round. Any suggestions on what's suitable. A lot of what I've seen for online golf is register here blah blah and I'm not keen on having to join a site just to have a hit now and then.

Its better to play for real. Its hard but its a good walk. I play because my dad wants me to!

You can also check out the Tiger Woods online beta, it's free and if it's anywhere as good as the console versions you will have a great time playing.

Finally got it up and running the other day, had some dramas with portforwarding and had to reset my router. Now it works fine with Game Ranger.

Indeed, just tried Tiger Wood online, and it is very good. Not too far off the console versions.

Do you think there is a Hot Coffee mod for it :P

@ mortal I have never played golf before.

How goes the new game?
Is it worth downloading?
If I choose the tiger woods character can I do online dating as part of the game?
Is there a Kart to drive (I don’t like walking) and can I put mag wheels on it?
Do I need to paint a helmet?
If so can I get someone to paint me a helmet. Something like Jackie Stewart’s tartan, I think would be appropriate.

All golf games I've played have terrible gameplay. You need to pick a club. Click. Watch the meter go up and quickly click between 2 markers (or some red area) for the optimal swing.
Sometimes you also need to do the exact same thing right after that, but then it's for 'effect'
Not with PJGTG! There you actually hit the ball with your mouse. It's a bit like Wii'ing, but with a game almost ten years old! The movement of your mouse affects the effect of the ball and the harder you swing your mouse, the harder you hit the ball.
Great game. Gave me lots of hours of fun.
Sometimes I still play a course or two.

Tiger woods online better has that, they call it true swing.

Tiger Woods 2002 or 2003 had that too.

Yeah ZAZ, you haven't bought any of the more recent Tiger Woods games, have you?

At least since TW 2006 have they had the TrueSwing, which makes the game just so much more enjoyable and realistic.

I didn't know that. I'lll give it a try.
