Having great fun :P. PES still has a great look and feel of an actual match but the gameplay is just awful now on next-gen, the goalies suck less but your own team's AI stinks.

got fifa 09 on the PS3, really good game, 10v10 is insane!

pro 9 has dropped the ball, it feels horible now, too outdated, the animation suck, the lack of licenses is starting to matter and it doesn't feel right anymore.

fifa win this year, its still too hard to pass players, and tackling is hard, but its a better game.

imo, fifa needs to steal some resposivness from pro and it will be a great game

I've got fifa 09 on the wii and i love it! They really messed up last year when they practically just converted the game across all formats. This year however a different story, the games been adapted for the wii, so graphics are pretty good and it makes the most of the wii's unique wireless gameplay, really enjoying it at the moment and i'm not really a football nut.

I have Fifa '09 for the 360 and I'm really enjoying it. Always been a fifa guy but bought 2 or 3 Pro Evo's for the PC and was getting into them but I think Fifa's best for the overall package.

I subscribed to xbox live for the first time, I don't like the fact you have to pay but I really wanted to try the 10 v 10 out. I was surprised that it's actually really good (well, it's been good most of the time, I've had a couple of matches where everyone would just run after the ball but the rest have been good). Hopefully the quality of the matches will imrpove more when you join a team!

Glad they've got the Be A Pro seasons feature on the 360 this time, that's what I've been playing on most of the time...

Thats good to hear. I got fifa 08 on PS3, and it sucked arse, I've had them all since 2002 on PS2, and when I saw 09 I shrugged my shoulders and thought I might give PES a go when its out, but form hearing all this, might give fifa 09 a go!

Casabonka, I understand your skepticism and I can assure you I was even more skeptical than you ;). I had every FIFA from 94 thru 2002 (except for 95) for the Mega Drive, Sega Saturn, PS1 and PC, and have played PES since PES 2 or 3 I think (Winning Eleven 5 was the first I owned). Nothing beats PES in the PS2, but outside of it EA just released a good game, finally! FIFA 07 was a bit painful, 08 was still painful in the PC but you could see on next-gen that they were trying to improve, and 09 is much better. As it was mentioned, it lacks to response of PES (PS2) but it is far more responsive and maneuverable than FIFA 08. The ratings have also improved quite a bit, the players now are rated more towards their actual ability than the EA league balancing method they used before (which is why I quit the research team). Now you could have a couple of players rated in the high 70s-low 80s in the Brazilian league for example. The top guys also have been toned down a little and it's true there's some disparity like Ibrahimovic being a complete genius in the game but overall is quite good, and nothing you can't edit in your own console/PC ;-).

I hope you enjoy it! When PES 09 comes out I'll get the PC demo and will be hoping all my expectations about it are awfully wrong ;).

I am considering buying PES 2009 for the PS2 since it's too much work updating all transfers and line-ups by myself, I try to follow what's going on but I definitely have some guys missing in my game (and it's annoying to create new guys). PES 2009 will have the Bundesliga, won't it? At least I can get Renato Augusto Konami-style, instead of me creating Flamengo over some "Other Teams C" club ;).

No, they don't have the liscence anymore, they only have bayern munich. Don't understand why they can't have the other teams unliscenced though but they don't.
Also, they lost the italian and spanish league liscences now too and all those teams are now unliscenced.

I just encourage everyone to stick with old pes, please don't buy the new one, you are just encouraging them not to bother to improve the game, they are too smug and don't even try. Same engine for 6 years (games) now, maybe more!. Can only move or aim in 8 directions! pathetic.

The 2009 one apparently is 16 instead of 8, Daniel. I gotta double check the licensed leagues now, might stick with 2007...

Gui it won't be 16. The only reason people might say that is because you "move" in 16 when you sprint - however you don't actually control the inbetween directions, it just goes between them when you change direction, in order to make you slower in changing direction / make it look smoother. So in reality it's still 8. And it is unarguably 8 when at normal or slow speed anyway.
