hmm...ill have to dload that then :)

i love that track, i think its Americas best race track, coz of the elevation changes, but then again Road Altanta is also ace and got fast corners :D

But although GP4 may be closer to real, the car still feels too rigid. There's no roll or anything like there is in F1C, and F1C models things like changing down gear too soon. Also in F1C, you can't go into a corner too quickly else you understeer off, which IMO is more realistic than GP4, where you can easily scrub off speed and get round without a problem.

Yeah, you can if you use steering help.... these are sims, turn it off.

What me? I don't use steering help. Well, I use it set at about 10% in GP4, but that's the best setting.

The best setting is 0% and with it turned off. Of course if you drive into a corner too fast with SH enabled it will scrub speed off. You'll also see hefty amounts of tyre smoke.

There's nothing easy about GP4 without steering help. You drive too fast into a corner, and you will go off. It's that simple.

GP4 gave me the best sensation of driving far into ones limits

i.e on the hotlapping i would spend hours trying to do the perfect lap

sometimes spending 6 hours striaght hotlapping! in the quest for that 1 perfect lap

in that sense, the physics are much better i feel. you get more feedback than in F1C

but F1C produces the forces better i.e roll, camber, retardation and acceleration forces

maybe its just visual but it seems better. if GP4 had this then it would be ultimate

when i do a good lap in GP4 i get more pleasure, because t ia harder to get the perfect lap in GP4 than it is in F1C.

in f1C i cud do lap after lap of faster and faster times, whereas in GP4 i cant.

like my story ast Suzuka, where i cudnt reach a 1.34 (i think), then in qualy it got all hooked up and i got pole :D

but its a time i still cant beat :(

Yeah, for hotlapping GP4 is awesome I think. It just hooks you up. I'm just wathing my old hotlap comp replays.
Done 1:29.794 at Suzuka, and I'm not sure if I did even win the Suzuka comp with that time :D

Its a good feeling in games like GP4, GPL, NR2003 when you hit a time you have been aiming for that is difficult :)

in GPL i have never completed more than 5 laps without crashing! :(

I used to be like that, but now i've got a wheel, I can do a lot more without crashing as such. I still spin occassionally, and I go slowly, but I don't crash so much.

I have now fully converted to F1C from GP4. had to free up some hard disk and uninstalled it. it felt like sacralidge but whats done is done.

anyhoo, from my years in karts/buggys/various experiences of single seaters, i would say F1C gives me more pleasure to drive with a wheel. GP4 was ace with keys but i felt lacked any sort of feel with a wheel.

F1C, although no way perfect when compared to GPL or NR2003, gives a better representation of a racing car when using a wheel. As others had said, it models roll etc etc. As for the brakes, they do lack alot of feel, especially in the sports car mods.

It is all down to the settings you use on the wheel and pedals. I will post my settings at a later date when im at uni with my computer.

Was gona ask about this and forgot. Have you ever seen body roll on an F1 car?

Also who said that F1C models the ability to downchange too early? You know the electronics in an F1 car wont allow that right?

yes, MR Ellis, i do know that. But the game models 99-02 so you can manually change gears. If you change down one too many, the rears will lock up and you will spin.

And as for your 'Have you ever seen body roll on an F1 car?' car comment. Get urself down to silverstone and stand on the entry to copse and watch.
