hey,

I have F12001 at home, but the car feeling is quiet poor I should say.....

is F1 challenge a better game qua car feeling (more satble under braking while turning for exemple)? or are they quiet simular?

It's just a question if I should by F1C or not, cause the graphics (when updated) are looking very nice ;-)

F1C drives better but there is still a lack of feel when driving

its not better imo. the best is still gp4. because of the weather-fx too. f1c is even poor, the graphic updates will not be all iam looking for, thatswhy i prefer gp4.

i prefer F1C

in GP4 the car feels very rigid. no movement

in F1C when you corner the car rolls and suspension leans it feels real, also under braking and acceleration

F1C seems better to me in this sense.

this coming froma GP4 nut a while back lol hotlap champion

F1C is a lot beeter than F12002 and F12001.

Ditto Pooky too. But I play GP4 more because of the better AI, tracks, graphics etc.

Totally agree

I used to love GP4, but then I found F1C and haven't played GP4 since :)

With all the latest updates installed, I think you'll find what you're looking for in F1C.

The CTDP physics in the 2004 update, are a marked improvement over the out-of-the-box defaults. To me, they feel like a sort of blend of F1C and GP4.

Spot-on Neil.

I was a long-long time GP4 fan, yet since I got into GPL properly, and the various NR2003 mods, GP4 barely gets used.

Mind you, if you drive without aids (steering help included), I don't see how you can say F1C feels 'real' under braking, as it doesn't even model feel under braking. The only clue to knowing that a wheel has locked is sight and sound, which for a serious sim-racer is way too late. It doesn't 'feel' right. It doesn't 'feel' full stop.

With no aids on, F1C is easy and gives much less feedback in my opinion. It feels... hmm, soul-less to me.

Yeah, F1C physics aren't as good as N2003 or GPL, but still better than GP4.

i dont know, i think gp4 is more spot on, the F1C physics are just wierd, like gav said, you dont know if you have locked a wheel the car behaves the same, in gp4 it acts more realistic. In real life the cars look twitchy, In F1C there so twicty way to twitchy for my liking, where as gp4 feels like its more on rails, the way F1 Cars look now days.

ALso i just thought of this, in GP4 if you push real hard, is when the car gets uncontrollable, just like in real life, F1C the car is just twitchy no matter what speed you do.

I still find it very hard to judge F1Cs physics because it has the worst feedback of any game i have ever played. I can even feel the car in games like Need For Speed better than i can in F1C. All ISI games suffer from this, including GTR. The only one that doesnt is rFactor, which is why i already rate it miles better than any other ISI based game - because it has the potential to be up there with Papy sims, and thats a first

The cars in F1C are only really twitchy with the default setup, or a bad custom one. It's odd, but a better setup makes the cars feel so more controllable. The CTDP physics are brilliant IMHO, and the models are up there with GP4 in terms of detail - it's the dated graphics engine that makes them lose marks. The default tracks are also dire compared to GP4, but many of the custom tracks (Elkhart Lake, Sears Point, Laguna Seca, to name a few) are fantastic.

My guess is that ISI could have made F1C a much more polished article, but they were probably rushed into releasing it by EA so that it could still have the official F1 licence, before Sony swallowed it.

yes for better AI play GP4 or sure also for miles better tracks graphics

because F1C tracks are quite poor
