It's not a fabrication, something is going on there and it is not being reported by the mainstream media. Some are claiming the population is being wiped out by a virus masquerading as HN1. There have been reports (unsubstantiated by the main stream media of course) of lungs turning to black mush.....swine flu? I don't think so! The number of deaths is being underrated, and the government is keeping a lid on it so as not to panic the population. Curious that the link from EC83 fails to mention the pharma company Baxter, the same company responsible for unleashing the flu virus in Mexico, then creating a vaccine which apparently contains harmful substances to humans. Why, what's the ultimate aim? Is it geo-political, a pandemic engineered by the Ukrainian government so they can declare martial law and defer the elections to retain power, or is it something more sinister?

With modern media, if there is something to make a deal out of, be it valid or otherwise, then a deal will be made of it, regardless of hush-hush tactics.

With all respect when you proof to me that the source
of these alegations (witch are clearly against the governmet)
say that then i start believing.
Thats how they failed in my country because 95% of media (TV, Radio,
newspapers, magazines etc)was owned by 1 single company
exercising monopoly at its worst but its changing now because
of the new comunications law and people are starting to open
their eyes in full.

Read the comments! Why is there a media blackout? This is not swine flu, it's pneumonic plague. Slovakia has closed it's borders to Ukraine.

have to say, as far as your love of conspiracy theories and posts go, this is genuinely a weird revelation, or the lack of info adding that it is just made up.

though allegedly from oct 30th they planned to shutdown schools and cinemas etc and non essential public services for three weeks. weird.

and what also is with people claiming planes were spraying areas of land weeks ago?

if you ask me, i bet its the pharmaceutical companies behind all this and the government scare tactics using countries as guinea pigs to try and test out mass vaccines as a big sort of experiment. either way, both companies and government win.

Emm you´re right with the monopoly, but the thing is a lot of the radio, TV channels etc. are going back to the government, and they will give the licenses to whoever they want... I really dont know who I have to believe in, to the government? to the Media? Maybe some independent writer or journalist...

Please tell me when a Argentinian a President was hit
so hard as we witness these past 2 years comparing to
any previous gorvernment?!
As to what to believe you say, their many alternative sources to
obtain good and faithfull journalism. One of the best ways
to know if these media are own by Clarin Group. If they are not
then you can have a good source for information.
Personally i get my information from a different source and
more directly involved with the government but thats my choice.

I'm well aware of that fact. However, this particular virus appears to be worse than swine flu. Whereas swine flu does not turn your lungs black, this variant according to the reports does. I guess that is where they draw the similarity to a plague. Hope that it does not cross the channel, and cases have already been reported in Canada. TSHHTF.

OK. Even if the reports of this cocktail of flu viruses are true, I think we need to keep the stats in perspective, assuming that the article has got the correct ones:

The death toll has reached 189 and more than 1 million people have been infected, most of them in the nine regions of Western Ukraine.

My maths isn't great, but doesn't that work out at a death rate of less than 1 in 5,000 so far?
Like Dave said, regular flu is more deadly every winter than this one has been so far.

That is about the mortality rate of seasonal flu. Only change is that it kills young and strong, instead of weak and elderly.
