I really quoted Bad News. I love this band and their films so much.

From their "rockumentary". BAD NEWS trying to buy their new single:

WRONG. Guess again.

Incidentally I don't even dig the Polish band Vader that much. New York Hardcore rules ... and Type O Negative.

i dont think the most tehcnical advanced guitar players are the best, you can watch videos of kids on you tube playing things that are imposible for the ¨best¨ guitarrists, but what do they write?, what songs do they have?, are they any good?

i dont think i need to say who´s my favourite, but for me in my own world he is the best, i can listen to all Slash songs everyday and i wont get bored, and i cant say the same about other guitarrists, for example Steve Vai has some songs that i rather skip, as well as Buckethead, and Van Halen or even Malmsteen

i remeber on an interview made to Zakk Wylde about 4 years ago when he said the best guitars players are the ones you can identify by just playing couple of notes...

so the best for me is the one i like the most, Slash, i dont think music is a competition, or a field to write the most complicated things to play, is just there for you to have fun, listen to it and feel it

anyways, my list is
we cannot include Jimi Hendrix in this list, can we?, so
1. Slash
2. Zakk Wylde
3. Buckethead
4. Eddie Van Halen
5. Jake E Lee
6. Steve Vai

something i recommend for you guitar lovers to listen to

and go listen to some slash´s snakepit from It´s five o´clock somwhere, you´ll all become a fan instanlty

cheers

Slash has got that distinctive sound, can definitely identify him.

The guys that are immediately recognizable to me are Keith Richards (absolute riff genius), Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Angus Young, Eric Clapton, Slash, Damon and the other guy from Blur, Santana, Matt Bellamy, Kurt Cobain, and I'd also put in the guy from Red Hot Chili Peppers there.

Did anyone mention Gary Moore yet? He certainly is distinctive and plays with a great feel. I think it was Clapton that said "less is more..." in a guitar playing context, although he was probably talking about his own greatness as usual.

On the subject of Zakk Wylde quotes as mentioned above, I remember reading something several years ago about how when he first joined Ozzy he was in awe of Randy and spenta silly amount of hours trying to fo justice to the Mr. Crowley outro solo.

He can or he can't? No, he can't. That speed trip's just ridiculous.

DragonForce are where speed really gets silly. Those music videos where there's action shots of the ridiculous tapping sequences are hilarious.

@Vader: Warriors of Genghis Khan is actually an awesome song...Some fantasticly political lyrics there. ;-) The cover of Bohemian Rhapsody is truly epic though, even better than Flaming Lips'!
